Someone brought up a point on the facebook event:

""strict on site 300 people"
Was mentioned that 40 bands playing.
Average 5 people per band.
Add on the 20 odd people working on this and the security..

Is anyone actually gonna be able to go due to these strict capacity rules?"

His uncle's friends unemployed brother is doing security, so thats 1. He's not getting paid either so it'll be fairly lax

It won't go ahead.  His hairbrained schemes never go ahead.

"Dad, are you coming to my soccer match?"

"Sorry our kid, there's a thousand fibbers bands playing on a pallet on a hill in the back of leitrim, dya seriously think I'm gonna miss that for some stupid little kids football game? *flashes horns*" :abbath:

"Ma is riding the postman"

Nothing mad about it when you look at the later history of Metal Ireland. Metal gossip seems more important than metal discussion. Sadly the trend is continuing unabated on this site as well. There are other forums I visit where metal fans actually discuss metal.  Now that is mad! It's a topsy turvy world.

The other forum that I frequent regularly these days is Revelation of Doom,  it replaced the NWN forum which closed down recently.  The Metal Archives one also looks active and devoted to actual metal discussion,  though I'm not signed up.  I signed up to two other new ones as well recently,  Warfare Noise! and New-Black-Vault but as RoD seems to be the most active,  that's the one I keep an eye on most.

Thanks.

I see iron mountain now on Eventbrite. Fair play if it goes ahead.

Did he get dragged off stage there and then?

You would hope he at least got a few thumps for being such a tool anyhow.

Not 100pc sure of the exact details - I think it was towards the end of his set and once they were done, the bouncer was straight over to him. This is what the Overdrive review said:

"Things take a bit of a bizarre turn, however, when O'Connor takes a knife that he had hidden on him on stage and decides to open his arm with the blade. He then licks the blood oozing from his wound and spits it into the crowd. Unorthodox approaches in metal and rock are encouraged, as it helps you to stand out, but self-mutilation is absolutely not.

That's not 'metal' in any form in the 21st Century, especially when the blood is also in the microphone, and somebody else has to use it after you're finished with it. After this episode, he is then escorted from the venue by security. This was a very odd end to their incredibly novel and seriously heavy setlist and left a lot of scratching heads as to why he thought this type of behaviour was acceptable."

Can anyone enlighten me, what band was this
