Checked this lot out last night after Existentiell brought them to my attention.  They have a couple of the trademarks of funeral doom (very slow,  very minimal) but the band they most put me in mind of is Type O if they were dipped in corrosive boiling acid. The stark bones that remain might be a bit like Wyrding. It's rich and evocative and despite my claim above,  mostly had its own buzz.  I love the utterly stripped down drumming. It puts me in mind of The Unthanks, and that's another association that could be drawn up in terms of their overall mood.  Interesting stuff.

Damn this is great. Good example of taking an influence and doing something fresh with it. Can hear all the Type O nuances, but in a more desolate landscape with the stripped down drums and atmospheric synths.

Yeah, there is even a trace of Type O in the epic guitar leads too. But yes,  it's what they do with the influence that makes it their own.

reminds me of albez duz. good stuff.

im getting a very dead can dance vibe of this as well.

Small Doses have the CD as postage on the vinyl is epic.  Nabbed a CD.

Giving the CD its first run here now.  Sounds great through the stereo.  The music is quiet and minimal but there are still layers of sounds that create an interesting mood somewhere between easy relaxation and dramatic tension... Picking up a bit of Tom Waits in the vocals at times.

Porno for Pyros in there too,  somehow.

Small Doses sent me a couple of extra CDs to make up for a slight delay in processing my order.  I have Laube on here now,  a German doom/ ambient/ jazz band.  Nice stuff.  Khanate-y in its minimalism,  Bohren & der Club of Gore-ish in its style.  I think it would appeal to people who enjoy what Wyrding are doing too.

Sold entirely by this description, what's the name of the Laube album?

Seems to be self titled. They have a bandcamp page.  It's the album with the car interior on the cover.

Sound.  Finally got to listen to it today, excellent stuff, savagely minimal.  It was the perfect accompaniment to walking around fields in the back of an industrial estate.

Sounds like the perfect spot to NOT bury a dead body *wink wink*

 ah yeah, standing in wasteland with a dufflebag of tools is just my hobby.  Jesus it's actually a bit like the soundtrack for an anxious burial

I've been listening to that Laube album and I'm enjoying it a lot. Great stuff to have on in the background. I always enjoy having a bunch of this kind of stuff when I don't want to get too distracted by music
