I don't mind the foreign but some of them are like treacle so I wouldn't sit into a heap of them.

Any fans of Kilkenny Ale actually? I've always wondered what the buzz is, I think it's far superior to Smithwicks yet the price of it is extortionate, nearly 3 quid a can in Dunnes last time I saw, and the only place I've seen it on draught is the Thomas House.

Haven't seen it on draught for decades, used to go mad for it when I lived in Dublin. Not great from cans in my experience.

I miss pints of Caffreys, a few of those on payday always went down well.

Ah nice one, I'll head into those pubs and check. I passed sin é and all but thought it looked a bit trendy

Sin É? Not really. One of the finest pubs on this island and one of my regular haunts for 20 years. Haven't been since 2020 though. I'll be heading there this weekend though to make up for lost time.

All sorts booze in there really. As my father said to me years ago when we were having a few pints in there:

"In this place you could be sat between a barrister and junkie".

I shouldn't be judging a book by the cover really. I'll get in there for one at the first chance.

Also haven't seen the Kilkenny ale on draught in 20 years. I always thought it was a bit flat at the time. Large bottle of McArdle's isn't bad while we're on the ale buzz

Still finding it hard to get used to specs, after not wearing them for 20+ years. If I wore them more often it'd go more smoothly, I'm sure but the freedom of contacts is hard to cut back on.

I used to wear glasses for about 20 years and once I broke the last 2 pairs I just stopped. No contacts either. Went from being blind as a bat without them to not needing them at all after the initial adjustment.

That's short sightedness though, I don't think it'd work for reading glasses. And maybe I just got used to it rather than it improved at all. Either way, no specs for me 😃

Found these on Twitter. Outraged doesn't begin to describe it

Bee Gees- The Mercyful Fate of 70s disco.

Because of the high pitch?

I'm getting fair sick of getting threatened with high temperatures every time I open a new tab on my phone.

The last heatwave here, the news gave the cause as winds coming from North Africa, and in the same breath going on about 'climate change'.

There probably is an issue with rising temperatures, who knows, but FFS like. Scaremongering should at least be coherent ya spa.

Maybe the winds coming from North Africa have been intensified as a result of climate change? Not much of an idea myself, but don't see why the two things would be mutually exclusive.

Last year half the city was covered in red dust blown up from the Sahara. People told not to go out if unnecessary to avoid breathing it in. I'm not a weatherman but I assumed climate change to refer to rising temperatures rather than wind patterns.

I'm neither confirming nor denying it's existence as I'm too limited to know either way, but they love to do your thinking for you on the news.

Your pal Macron is some lad. Looked like he actually wanted to climb up on Zelenskyy earlier in the week. Closet gay as well as a granny grabber :)

Of course, you understand that wind is primarily driven by temperature differences? Like, that's how and why wind happens.
