It got them a headline, job done. If they had any balls, they'd change it back and fuck the Glastonwankers.

Yeah I think they should have just ignored all that silliness and left it alone.

The minute they engage or apologise for silly stuff like that they've already lost.

They could have simply said it's because they love women as well but I still think saying nothing and just playing the tunes would have been the best option there

Quote from: Bürggermeister on June 26, 2025, 08:20:34 AMThere's a band called Girlband (note the clever lack of a space) playing at Glastonbury this year. They've no association with what is now known as Gilla Band, that I'm aware of, but aren't a million miles away stylistically. I find it really odd that, in the days of internet search engines, you could reach the level of playing Glastonbury with another band's name who released albums just a few years ago on Rough Trade, albeit they now trade under a different name. Search for them and you get the Gilla lads. Is it stupidity or laziness just nobody gives a fuck at any effort at originality anymore?

By the way, keep an eye out for my new project, Spicegirls!

Surely a metal forum of all places isn't the place to be asking this, considering there's probably 40 Bands called Leviathan/Reaper/Incubus.. etc

But yeah I agree, they themselves must always be getting asked about it as well, not very smart marketing.

Stunning. I saw heaps of them on a barge trip along a river when we stayed out in the country last year. Such a pleasure.

Just read Neil Young's Glastonbury set won't be broadcast on TV. Neil has issues with the BBC, and said that Glastonbury appears to be under corporate control. One of the biggest music festivals in the world under corporate control?! Surely not.

Is everyone an aul fella here nowadays, where's the stuff for The Fear thread?

Just unsuscribed from the Earache mailing list and got a message along the lines of "successfully unsuscribed, you will receive a confirmation email shortly". You couldn't make it up!

I have loads but I'm crap at typing them out so I just rely on Stout to keep that one going

I knew you'd have a few up your sleeve!

Making new ones every week these days

Going around the place in constant fear. Hardly leave the house other than to go to work and even then I think they all know

Good that someone is maintaining a bit of madness.

Hot sauce and hangovers are not a good combination.

Not in the immediate, but you'll hopefully be thankful for the exorcism to come

Was in Dublin yesterday for the final, fk me the City centre looks so run down down and filthy in places, I thinks its getting worse. It's so grim when you leave Busaras and head for Talbot street, crappy little shops, awful smells, O'Connell street not much better, I don't know why foreign visitors bother with it.

I guess they did show it in the end, though it wasn't the best performance I've seen. Sounded all very samey, and I'm a big Neil Young fan...
