Why don't the UAC just do the honest thing and rename the Circuit of Ireland Rally the Circuit of Dungannon?

Being a musician has changed, the whole scene is so different. You used to be someone who played in shit bands to no-one and gradually worked your way up to decent bands who could draw a crowd. You encounteresd all kinds of shit and surreality which helped you evolve as a player and a human being. Now, there's a generation of people who are "paying their dues" by performing covers in front of a ring-shaped light in their bedroom. It's mental to me. They dress up, give it socks to a camera by themselves and this is where the next generation of players are learning their craft. No life experience, just a strange ring-shaped light which they shake their thing in front of. Fucking mental.

Anyone see the northern lights last night? Well I hope it was that anyway. Just walked out for a fag about midnight and there it was. One of the maddest things I've ever seen. Looked nothing like the pictures I've seen either as in this looked like it was coming from a single point source, like it was emanating from an invisible moon. Passed from East to west for an hour or more. Daughter got some pictures I'll get her to send em to me but yeah, pinks and greens cool stuff altogether

My missus saw them in Wicklow, mates in Mayo and you're down south, so they seem to have covered the country.

The photos I've seen are stunning. What a thing to behold. The Aurora Australis was on display last night as well but not around Melbourne. Horsham, which is a few hours further North did get them and South Australia and Western Australia were fairly lit up, as well as Tasmania.

Matt, I'll never forget Iceland. Your taxi overtaking ours and you all giving us the finger as we got caught at a red light and you zipped through. As we sat at the light I looked up and lo and behold, after two evenings out on the boat trying to see them to pretty much no avail, there they fucking are. And you lot missed it

If only Jacko Boyle had lived in tipp he'd have seen the northern lights and his social worker wouldn't have had to kill him with sleeping tablets. I wonder if any of you remember Jacko?

The best thing about this was the lack of pre warning I was watching Jaws (class class film btw) with the young lads and next thing I went for a fag before the final showdown and here was this shit going on, and for once an actual clear night to see it. What a great surprise

Missed it - I was in the pub and got sent picures, but couldn't see anything outside with the light pollution. Happening again this evening apparently.

Was looking all evening towards the north, it was getting darker, and no sign of any aurora. Went outside to get something at the car and.. wow. Turns out the whole thing was directly overhead at the time. Ended up going out to Sliabh Beagh to get some better pics (though my camera crapped out - had to use my phone which was nowhere near as good) it was amazing, at one point even had that wavy curtain effect you see in bright green.

Unreal. You lucky bastards, I would love to witness that in Ireland. It is such a rare treat

Was it definitely me? I didn't go out on the boat, I went to the pub both nights. I do remember you saying you saw them though.

That's around my gaff there.

A rare treat indeed. Class class class I'll wait up tonight as well for it if it's going to be on again
