is there any bands out there with a similar sound to the first 2 albums?

Have yet to come across any with a similar sound to the first 2 albums specifically, but the closest you'll get I'd say would be Voices (side project of pretty much all the AK members bar Jason).

Talanas tap into the mid 2000's Aker material a fair bit also:

There's also Skaldic Curse (also an Akercocke spin off). You can still hear a good bit of Akercocke in them

Akercocke's Former Guitarist Matt Wilcock's band (also ex Berzerker)   "The Antichrist Imperium",  has some Akercocke moments in it. Great band

David Gray from the 'cocke is in Antichrist Imperium as well. I'll be checking out Voices at the Incineration Fest in a few weeks.

cheers lads but im not digging any of that stuff really!
i really hated the proggy shit they started adding into songs after the goat of mendes.
it just goes to show how unique those albums are, the first one has woeful production though but the goat of mendes is a satanic classic. it really does sound like you are in the middle of a haunted woods at a black mass!
the vocals make it as well.
