Thanks for those goals against England.

Jayziz! Was he the best ever? Possibly.

Sad, very sad. That documentary 'Hero' with Michael Caine narrating about the '86 World Cup is your only man for a bit of nostalgia lads.

He was. He didn't stay at the peak for as long as  Ronaldo and Messi have, but at their peak Madonna was the best. His movement, allied with insane close control was a joy to watch. He carried that Napoli team as well.

Suppose it's impossible to say who was they best ever, but his name will always be up there

The documentary on him from last year is well worth a watch

yeah great doc, some fuckin lifestyle he had in Naples back in the 80s!

What an unbelievable character really. He was on a different level altogether in terms of scale, the drama, the size of his personality. There have been amazing players since but nothing has come close to the pure theatre he created. In 1986 he transcended the sport and then 1990 was drama of international proportions. They beat Brazil and a class Italy team to get to the final where they just imploded. Awful final to top off an incredible tournament. The Germans were a class team..MatthaĆ¼s, Kilnsmann and Brehme, the Inter Milan trio..class. We had Italian football every Monday night on telly and on Sunday morning there was a show about it too on Channel 4. I was glued to it. Serie A was so interesting back then to everyone. It's never reached those heights since. Then 1994, the drugs ban. All the craic with mafias, him shooting at journalists. Unreal stuff. There has never been or never will be anyone like him again in football. He transcended the sport, similar to Michael Jordan..everything else just pales in comparison.

Watched a couple of "best moments" vids today. Definitely reminded me why I was so into football as a wee lad.

What a truly terrible year 2020 has been.
We've lost the world's two best attackers in the space of a couple of weeks. Diego Maradona and Peter Sutcliffe. RIP

  fuck sake
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Mate of mine sent me this last night and it's the best thing I've watched in ages. Even if it's just to see how the world used to be before technology and globalisation took over, it's worth watching.

YouTube account closed boyo....

Weird my brother says he can't see it either. Type Maradona HBO documental into youtube and you should be able to see it. Or maybe it's a country thing?

IF United beat Liverpool today, City will win the league.
