They would have played City, Arsenal, and a couple other big teams at home..Liverpool and Utd I think. Hopefully they get stuffed and go down along with Karen Brady and West Ham who was the first to jump on the bandwagon.

Fuck em, sure everyone else has to get on with it. I'm sure the teams vying for European places could make a similar argument

Ya, I'd love to see West Ham go down after that gowlbag Brady.

Right job for them would to add an extra relegation place. It wouldn't be fair or serve any purpose but there would be more exciting games for the neutral to watch, televised from empty neutral venues.

It'll be 11 and 12 in a row as well so you can shove the asterisk up your hole

Stevie G having his say on Celtic becoming champions.

How anyone can watch Scottish football is beyond me. Dire.

It's better than it's given credit for, and the for such a small population, they put us to absolute shame with their match attendance. Per capita, it's higher than in England. The atmosphere at matches is as good as anywhere. Not being smart, but how many matches have you watched outside Old Firm derbies?

The problem is a lack of competitiveness, and there is no getting away from it. Way too top heavy, and a lot of halfwits tar the name of genuine Rangers and Celtic fans. The extreme, widespread drunkenness of Celtic fans at Easter Road last year was startling!

You have clubs with the potential to break the duopoly. Hibs, Aberdeen, Hearts (a basket case at the moment, granted) have great stadiums and a large support base. A bit of that greasy Saudi money and you'll have a serious league.

Some very good points there but it's hard to see a rich tycoon taking over any Scottish club realistically. Scotland lacks the perceived glamour of London. Then again so does Manchester but its a different situation really.

On another note, I've firmly believed for years that if Celtic joined the Premier league (even though that would take 4 years in itself as we would have to start in League 2) we would be in the top 5 biggest clubs in the world within 15 years.

That's certainly a possibility, but I don't like this idea of the Globalisation of football. It's the kind of precedent that these fuckers are looking for to make a European Super League. That'd suck the soul clean out of the game. Just as bad sacrificing great old school cauldrons like Upton Park and the Calderón for a horrible shopping centre in an industrial state to 'get to the next level'. Maybe I'm overly nostalgic, but with VAR and the obscene salaries and agents fees, it's gone about as far as I can tolerate in England and Spain. I followed the SPL closer than any other competition over the last few years as a result.

The Champions League in its current format is separating the 'elite' clubs from the 'common or garden' type, which is sad. You get the odd abberation like Montpellier winning in France a few years back, Leicester of course, or Porto winning the CL. But what are the chances of seeing the likes of Steau Bucharest, Malmo, Nottingham Forest or Red Star Belgrade building teams and getting to European finals again? Very very slim indeed.

It does seem to be the case that the SPL doesn't attract much serious investment, bar the extremely dodgy variety like Hearts got from Lithuania. It's a pity really, as the atmosphere is much more visceral there, less of a product and more of an old school professional league.

Love the way he switches to common sense re Liverpool 🤣 And what would have been required for Newco to win instead 😂
