The fella I was on about going to the Cork City games fits the bill for that quite nicely as well if he does have a skinhead. Not originally from Cork either.

Anyway just having a look there, the nearest team to me is in Waterford, around an hour and a half drive. Well Cork would be about the same length of time but geographically farther. I wouldn't be prepared to put in the effort being honest about it. When I was a young fella, I gave a couple of weeks staying in a place near Tolka Park and from the balcony I could see a corner of the pitch. That was as close as I have come to ever attending. They were playing some crowd I'd never heard of in an early European qualifying round and fair enough I didn't go but there was a decent enough buzz around the place before and after the game. More than I would have thought to be fair to them.
Ah yeah if youve that much of a trek to the closest ground fuck it.
If you get the right game it can be amazing, the likes of Turners Cross,Tallaght,Derry,Sligo,Waterford are decent grounds, far from shit holes.Theres no event junkies in these grounds only out and out diehards, proper football people.
The European nights can be great, most games in Europe league of ireland clubs are underdogs,so the crowd really get engaged.

Its not for everyone, and theres a lot wrong with football in this country, but i wouldnt change a whole lot either.

I have to ask you a question - were you at Kreator in the academy December a few years back? The atmosphere in the mosh pit was one of love peace and good will - anyway you'd be hammering lads and then you'd take a break and have a chat - I got talking to someone and somehow a cork city membership card was produced from a wallet 😂😂

Ya I'd say that was him alright - I think that show was 2014? Long time ago now  :( Amazing the things you can end up talking about at a metal gig when inebriated.

Dutch League just got null and voided. No Champions, no relegation.

Its like a few years back, when our pubs were packed for the champions league final all roaring on Liverpool, wanting Jordan Henderson to lift the trophy.A short few months later same fellas were roaring at the tv hoping he'd miss a spotter in the world cup against Columbia.

Ive always found it bizarre,

For the record here ,ive been a Coventry supporter all my life, and was delighted when Dion Dublin got an England call up back in the 90s.
Ha, not many Sky Blues fans anywhere never mind on here

I was born there so they have always been my team in England. The one positive thing about this virus is Coventry have been top of the table for weeks, it's fucking surreal.

There'll surely be repercussions. Wasn't UEFA sanctioned, and I don't think the majority of clubs' wishes were taken on board.

Is it just the Eredivisie so far?

I'm not a Liverpool supporter but in the event of something like this happening to the EPL I think Liverpool should be handed the title. The points per game scenario seems by far the fairest way to do this and decide everything. There is nobody anywhere who doesn't know that Liverpool will win the league, and they have been by far the most entertaining and effective team in it and fully deserved champions. The only problem I see here is that relegation is far from as clear cut as the title and those teams at the bottom would make a very different case as to the fairness of the whole situation.

In a way I hope, and a totally selfish and schadenfraude way, that it is. That big asterisk beside the 19/20 season victory for Liverpool would be the gift that keeps on giving down the virtual pub with the lads on video call :)

Ya, I'd much prefer it to be finished behind closed doors. That manky asterisk would always be there.

I dunno, cancelling the season would save me from the forfeit in my PL Fantasy league so I'm torn about the whole thing

What's the forfeit? We had no cash in college, so a housemate of mine had to drink 5 shots of 80% absinthe  in 5 minutes my brother bought for me in Prague as a forfeit for losing at a version of 21's we used to play. Better than getting a few bar, believe me ;)

Zero to demented in less than 20 minutes.

The last forfeit was downing a pint of vindaloo and I escaped by 1 point. Lol that's like 1 yellow card over the course of a full season. Last thing yer man said before letting it back was "I should have kept Dele Alli".

This one is supposed to be Croagh Patrick in the bare feet and I am miles adrift.

'A pint of vindaloo' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 FFS🤣🤣🤣

It gave me great pleasure to see the lad take his medicine because he is a right jammy cunt. Going to the Indian takeaway to get the pint of sauce was a good laugh as well.

"You want just the sauce"

.. yeah my girlfriend is vegetarian.. will there be around a pint in it? I need about a pint of the sauce

"We can do a vegetarian one"

.. No she wants to put her own veg in it..

"hang on is this for some sort of a bet or something?"

.. no it's just that I can never make my own as nice as your sauce is all..

"Ok I'll tell the chef so"

.. Grand, and can you tell him make it extra hot as well? I mean as hot as he can possibly make it. I do love the sauce you do here but it isn't ever as hot as I want it.

"Ohh ok then I'll tell him"

..Proper roasting now don't go easy on it, thanks.
