The percussion ruins that song for me (it's like an FSOL cast-off) but that's a decent album alright. Their live album (Roseland NYC Live) is superb. As is this, Beth Gibbons guesting with the Polish National Symphony performing Gorecki's Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs:

The percussion is the focal point so a tough sell if you're not into that. Roseland is indeed amazing, can't fault anything they've done, but I feel it's a separate entity given the massive change between that period and this. Listened to the Gorecki album once before and enjoyed it. Her solo album is also great.

Will check out that Roxy Music album. Been slightly obsessed with their tune In Every Dream Home a Heartache for the last year or two. Great covers of it by The Melvins and The Fields of Nephilim.

I only ever knew Love Is The Drug from going to pubs/clubs which is great tune, and at some point I heard this tune and have also listened to it countless times. Never-- for some reason -- went and actually gave the band a proper go, so nice one Astfgyl for the recommendation.

Roxy Music - Avalon

Great album. It's almost like it should be shit but it isn't at all.

Yep it's class

Listened to Portishead - Third earlier this evening, having never heard any of it before.

Great stuff all the way through dunno why I never bothered with it.

Sigur Rós with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra....

Morphine

The sound of a comedown, of that point in the night where the drink is wearing off, weariness, the wee hours, slow, murky, half awake half asleep music. Far from depressing though it causes me to slow way down when I listen to them. Best album: Cure for Pain, though they're all class. Mark Sandman the singer dropped dead onstage, bass in hand in Italy at the age of 47. Legendary.

Been ages since I listened to Morphine. Good man Peadar, they're lined up for the Thirsty Thursday session later.  8)

Described as mystical volcanic drone noir which nods to Metal and Avant-garde Jazz, here's....

NEPTUNIAN MAXIMALISM : ÉONS (2020)

Its interesting stuff, second tune there sounds like it could be on a Soulfly album, but Jaysus they're overdoing it a bit with two and a quarter hours.

Morphine, nice shout!

The actual song Cure For Pain from the album mentioned by Pedrito is one I listen to alot. Lovely buzz to it. That album and their other releases are indeed very good. Must give them a listen soon.

Morphine and cayans of Guinness. Ah yes....

Kelly Lee Owens 'Inner Song' is a nice drop of electronica/house.

Her first album got a lot of listens here when it came out. Still need to get around to this one.
