Not really what you are looking for but the new album from The Crawling is pretty good.

I can't get into them at all.  Far too ordinary for me.

Loads to listen to from this thread already!

I haven't heard their new one yet but enjoyed Forn's 'The Departure of Consciousness' when it first came out.

That Collapse of Light album mentioned somewhere surely fits. Made a fine soundtrack to wandering around the ruins of a convent in Lisbon for me this morning anyway

Oh, I'd seen that name somewhere recently. Must check that out.

Sounds good,  but doom death? It has a few elements that are similar to Disembowelment or Indessinence alright,  but they aren't the most defining parts.  Maybe the best parts,  though ;)

The Grief from Cork are definitely in the MDB vein of Doom/Death.
Band is made up of the lads from For Ruin, Corr Mhóna and the Katatonic/Lost Paradise tribute bands.
They made a brief burst on the scene about 2 years ago now, but petered out again, much like the members other main bands.
Work schedules and drummer woes being the main reasons.

No official recordings yet, though.
But in the works, or so I'm told.

I have a couple of their gigs recorded, which are pretty good.
Can send on to you, if you like.

I know it's been said before but if ever a band needed to change their name.. It's the equivalent of starting a death metal band in 2019 and deciding to call it Carcass.

I know... It's pretty gack!
And the DIY logo they used is even more gack!

Some video footage of them live here...

That link above should be a playlist of about  songs, not just the first one, but this forum doesn't seem to like adding playlists...

I just figured they were a Grief cover band ala the Paradise Lost and Katatonia ones

Not going in to specifics for a good while yet but I have something vaguely in this vein in the works that will be out in 2020.

The lads in Grief are working away on the recording at the moment, vocals gone in and its sounding very good. Dunno when they plan to have it out yet tho. Doom is slow moving i guess.
