FOR RUIN return with their fourth full length album "Painted In The Colours Of War" featuring 10 tracks of melodic/blackened death metal that the band is recognized for. The album is the band's first full length release since 2013 and will be released digitally and on CD in partnership with Gate Of Doom Records (Brazil) on January 29th, 2026. A digital single "Discord" will be released on Dec 11, 2025.

Painted In The Colours Of War was recorded by most of the band's "Last Light" recording lineup, featuring Steve O'Connell (Drums), Pete Lawlor (Bass) and John Murphy (Guitars, Vocals). The album was recorded & mixed by Murphy at The Barn in North Cork during April-August 2025 and was mastered by Marko Tervonen (The Crown) at Studio-MT, in Sweden. The album's striking artwork comes from surrealist master Yaroslav Gerzhedovich.

That art work looks class, did you do that John?

Looks like the same artist who did the The Grief album covers. A bit of Bosch in there, a bit of Forest of Equilibrium... nice.

Correct - same artist as used for all the Grief releases to date (Yaroslav Gerzhedovich - you'll find him on facebook). This one is very definitely very Bosch-y, he called it "Reflections Of War". A seriously talented guy.

Class artwork! Looking forward to hearing the album: best of luck with it.

This would warrant a vinyl release. The art is ace!

  well spotted... a few of the greatest hits of north cork in there. My filming is a bit shite but hey.... better than an AI video anyway! Lohort & kanturk Castles (very near me) are in there somewhere too along with the Blackwater & some landscapes around my place.....
