Ara feck. Starting on a wee run with probably the greatest title track of all time.

RIP.

Yep. I have today off work and I'm starting the day off with the debut. I reckon there will be more than one Black Sabbath albums thrun on for the day that's in it.

Fuck I've been listening to the first six Sabbath albums since the gig, I'll have to lash on his solo stuff tonight. Two legendary careers.

If you're gonna go though it's a good way to go, right after headlining what was basically metal Live Aid. Will really solidify the legend and mystique.

Speaking of which, one of my favourite things about Ozzy, despite all the theatrics and Prince of Darkness stuff, any time you saw him being interviewed he could not have been more regular and working class, even right up until the end. A very funny and likeable guy. Spent his life travelling the world and sounded like he'd never left Birmingham for a day

I had no time for him since that god awful 'reality' show but it's a shame to see him go all the same. Not unexpected given his health issues but, after seeing him at the farewell gig, I didn't think it'd happen so soon.

Quote from: Mithrandir on July 22, 2025, 10:40:57 PMOne of those days you never really think you'll see. The last of the real rockers, lived by his own rules, a maniac through and through.

Like Lemmy he was one of God's prototypes, not meant for mass production. A truly unique individual

Have a couple of lads I know saying we shouldn't be posting anything about Ozzy because there's children dying in Gaza 🤦🙄

The way the Osbournes portrayed themselves the last 25 years you'd easily forget that the early Ozzy stuff (and obviously early Sabbath) was incredible.

I remember picking up The Essential Ozzy best of on a school tour when I was 11. I was fucking floored!

I never gave Black Sabbath or Ozzy a minute of my time back in the 90s.Outside of a few hits I knew fuck all about him (at the time if it wasnt death metal i wasnt interested). It wasn't until the Ozzfest started off that I really grasped who he was.
The only time I was ever going to see him was that time the Ozzfest was in Punchestown, and he pulled out last min.

A guy I work with is/was a massive Ozzy fan,he went to an Ozzy gig in Mcgonagles around 89/90 with his two brothers. His younger brother was only 12,he ended up crowd surfing and the bouncers pulled him over the barrier. After the show they went looking for him ,and he was been looked after by Sharon!.

He said around that time Sharon sent lads from The ChoirBoys (I presume she was managing them) down to Cork to sus out what the Rock scene was like. She was going to book an Ozzy show in Sir Henry's , but never happened.

Anyway , Rip Ozzy!

QuoteRTE news just did a segment on him. Of course the fucking bat head had to be mentioned. I did spit my tea out when the reporter mentioned Sabbath guitarist Tony Immi....

Whenever I see RTE doing something on metal I picture Aonghus McaNally doing the air guitar at the start of The Lyrics Board

They were Mike Inez's first gigs with Ozzy, a bit before No More Tears was released. He posted about it last week. I had been to plenty of gigs in McGonagles but those two Ozzy ones were mental. They definitely crammed more people in than they were allowed to, no doubt about it 😂IMG_9237.png

 this kind of fake moralising some people come out with to try to look on point ethically makes me puke.

Aonghus McNally doing air guitar at the start of The Lyrics Board is what got me into metal.

It's the same people that think resharing Instagram posts is activism.
