I was at the Tuesday gig. Hetfield came out during Danzig's set for, I think, Green Hell and Glenn came on later to do Last Caress with Metallica. I'd be fairly sure they did the same the night before. There's definitely a recording the Monday gig out there.

I've quite enjoyed both nights, first night had more songs that bore me to death though.
However, after seeing Iron Maiden in Paris on Monday, Metallica seems as an amateur hour fucking around in a garage sound and playing/singing wise.
Dirty Old Town on the second night sounded quite cool, I've enjoyed it. Guess it worked well because sounding as 2 drunks having a go at it fits the nature of this tune.

Hilariously enough, a coworker was talking to me about the gig yesterday - definitely not a metal person by and large outside of Metallica so I was interested in her take on it. Interesting takeaway is that she mentioned that she was disappointed they didn't play anything off her favourite Metallica album, and when I asked her what it was, she said "Saint Anger".

The bigger shock was her casually mentioning being a fan of Bad Brains about 10 minutes later. How I've worked with this person without them mentioning this to me for the last 15 years is mental.

Fantastic weekend. Town felt like being at an Ireland away match. Really nice atmosphere about the place. Both nights were great and night 1 left me buzzing for night 2. Standing tickets for 121 for 2 nights- an absolute bargain given today's prices. Went to both nights with my daughter. When we arrived on night 2 she told me as a Father's Day gift she'd managed to get us snake pit passes through a friend of hers. Entered the pit while Gojira were playing Stranded walking in under the drummer. Doesn't get much better than that. I'd love to play it cool and by cynical about it but the pit was absolutely fantastic!
It could easily be the last (or 2nd last) time we get them here. Hard to see it being topped.
