Fair play to your daughter. That's a really great father's day gift. She's safe from the orphanage for another year, says you!

My kids got me a card in the shape of a hand that says " A high five for the greatest dad in the world". But whatever man...

Did Kirk fall over during Seek and Destroy? Seen some mention of it on the Internet, but I'm not sure if anybody's mentioned it here

It looked like he went to lean on what looked like a monitor but was like a box under a sheet or something?

Poor ceunt.

After Cardiff last night, I can confirm that the acoustics in the Aviva are just mad shite.

The official recording is out now on livemetallica.com.

It definitely sounds a lot better and tighter than both Slane and the dates I was at in 2024.

They did fix one of Kirk's obvious fuck ups at the start of "Day", so who knows how much they do to touch it up in general. Probably not much, since Kirk's usual sloppiness is there in many solos. James' vocals at the start of Until it Sleeps sound a bit patchy, too.

In fairness to Kirk that fuck up on Day was down to the guitar tech not tuning the guitar. Poor kirk was standing there like a spare prick

Was checking out the samples on the website from the gig and while I wasn't overly impressed with the general tightness of it all, it's still a cool idea to have decent quality of whatever gig one was at and I wouldn't mind seeing more bands do something like that

They've been doing it for a long time. I have about 250gb of audio from live Metallica shows saved on a HD somewhere loads of stuff from the 80's going right up to 2017. Some of it sounds awful but you also have some real jems from the Kill em All and Ride tours. Sunn O))) also do the same thing.

It's such a shame there is so little high-quality material from when they were possibly the greatest band around

There's a site called nugs.net that has loads of bluegrass and country stuff on it.

Cardiff stadium was absolutely amazing, the vibe in the streets so much better too. Cardiff castle on one end of the street, stadium on the other. Pints around £5/5.50 (and that wasn't spoons).
Definitely a city I'd go back to

Aye, I thought the streets after the gig was amazing. Seemed like there were so many more people than Dublin, and you almost immediately walk onto a long street that's just bar after bar.

Although, while the stadium is incredible, the general transport infrastructure seems a bit lacking. It was a shock to find that Cardiff Airport is smaller than Belfast City airport. I had to wait an hour for a bus to take me to a 7k population village, where I caught a train into Cardiff.

I'm just going off what Wikipedia and Google calls it, but apparently the UK often classifies settlements smaller than 7,500 as a village.

I can't really say I disagree. I've been in 11,000 population towns and they seem like tiny backwaters.
