Well I'll be going to both nights, looking forward to this actually. Last album did nothing for me bar a few songs but this will be cool I think.

I've seen a few people giving out about the setup, things like you could be up close to the stage and see nothing because they've all walked off to the other side, or looking at the band with their backs turned

I'll probably take a look at seating once there's an idea of the layout

That's what I was thinking, I remember seeing some photos from the standing and thought that the stage looked very high. Maybe it's not a big deal if you just stand back a bit.

Quote from: HeartWorm on May 22, 2025, 09:30:28 AMPantera and Gojira are decent supports.
Much better than Bokassa and Ghost at Slane.
Ghost were great at Slane!

Definitely going both nights but I'm not so sure about that in the round setup, don't want to be stuck looking at Lars's arse

Will do both  nights but dread hotel costs...

They did In The Round in the Odyssey in 2010, I was seated for it but it was pretty good setup. Unless you're desperate to be close to the stage, I can't imagine your view will be limited by the height of the stage.

luckily i have mates in Dublin I can stay with, probably go on the lash the first night and drive up and down the 2nd

Only copped the prices, €200ish at the mid point for both days is surprisingly reasonable given current prices for big stadium gigs

Yeah I was thinking that too actually with the supports especially, Pantera tickets for the 3arena were €90 and they do an hour (almost their full set) when opening for Metallica on this tour anyway.

I don't think I'll bother with this. I've said that I wouldn't bother with Metallica again after I'd seen them in 2008 for the 5th time. But I went to see them again in Slane and was quite underwhelmed.
To be fair, I was more than halfway back in the field, and being that far from the stage is almost always a downer for me.

Gojira and Pantera are great supports, I'm sure it will be a mighty day out. Summer solstice too, I hope the weather will be cracking for ye 🤞

I was at the point gig were the where in the middle, though it was great myself!.I'd say seated up high in the Aviva it could be the perfect  set up!.

Will most likely head to the Pantera date but it's more of a day out then going to enjoy a proper gig as I am sure ill be watching them on a screen.

What's the deal with the 2 Metallica sets? Will one be the good stuff up to and including Justice then second day is the shite or will they be playing the shite stuff both nights?

Mix and match I think. Plenty of trips to the bar or jacks so.
