Anyone pick this up. Didn't expect much and as such wasn't disappointed. Really poor record altogether. I loved the first two, then they polished up the sound for Meliora and Prequelle which I didn't mind so much as the songs were largely still there, the last one was muck and this one is worse. They've really run their course, there's an inability to reinvent themselves literally bound by the shackles of the gimmick they've created for themselves.

Everything is tiresome on it, even the artwork.

Haven't listened to it yet. The debut and Meliora are great, on the last one he was trying to incorporate the Dokken/80s Ozzy thing with pop but it's just a bit too bombastic and ultimately the songs weren't good enough.

Last one was so bland, this one even worse. There's always a handful of ear worms on these albums I literally recall nothing from this and don't have much of a desire to listen again.

Prequelle is mighty.

I liked the demo and Elizabeth single at the time but the novelty wore off. Nothing else I've heard from them did anything for me.

Just to add the song writing credits are interesting

Fred Vincent Pontare had a hand in many of the tracks. Previous work includes Wycleaf Jean, Swedish House Mafia and Avici - gas not a hook to be found on Skeleta.

I quite like Ghost, think they peaked with Meliora but I still liked Prequelle and the last one.

This is much more of a struggle. Listened a few times and really don't feel like putting it on again.

First two albums are great, but once the Tik Tok goth money came in the quality dipped leaving a couple of decent songs. There's definitely worse folks could be listening too.

I'm still surprised he hasn't done something with Bjorn & Benny from Abba yet.

The first two albums were really good, but they (he) reached another level and peaked with Meliora and Prequelle.  The one standout track from the last album is Watcher In The Sky - and while not a bad record overall, I could clearly see decline.  Between that and this latest effort it's obvious to me he's found a formula he's content with that's earning him a decent few bob.  Again, while not being bad it lacks any sort of bollocks and has no sharp edges anywhere.  Safe and harmless, for a younger audience maybe.

It's grand but that's about as much of a compliment I could give it.

Probably 2 or 3 tracks I would go back to.

Interestingly, I came across a video on TikTok of some "ghestie" reviewing the album and every song I liked she rated lower, and the complete dogshit ones she loved, so I assume I'm just not the target market any more!

Cenotaph in particular gets on my nerves for some reason

Don't think it is a good album, but I quite like the third song, Satanized.

Yeah there's a tune on it - De Profundis Borealis - that I actually really like, but the general consensus is that it's just dogshit filler. It's one of the few tracks for me that captures a bit of the older spirit.

That Cenotaph tune just sounds like Ghost playing Journey, to me. Throw Steve Perry on that one and it sounds grand.
