Don't see any parallels to our own history and the suffering inflicted on this land?!

I've fuck all interest in seeing Disturbed and I love Megadeth but I wouldn't be forking out just to see a shortened support set from them.

Wise up. U are actually comparing Ireland to Gaza?? Don't forget it was IRA murdered most of their own Catholic people. Bit different ain't it?

No need to get into either Middle Eastern or Irish history to arrive at the conclusion that someone who makes a photo op of signing a heavy explosive that has a very high chance of killing children is a psycho.

Edgy and cool on a metal music forum..... right. Very creative with Bogshite too. Fair play to you. So I'm a twat and you're an uncreative, unfunny simpleton....

Lad if you can't see the similarities between 2 countries with aggressive expansionist neighbours who are more than willing to commit atrocities which led to the birth of armed resistance groups then that's on you.

No one is denying the IRA also did heinous shit or saying that Ireland was bombed to oblivion like Gaza.

A poster asked why so many Irish take interest in a middle Eastern conflict and it's because we see reflections of our own history in it.

Disturbed have had a more consistent audience - that's why they are headlining. Megadeth had a few heavy hitting records sales wise then about ten where sales dwindled and dwindled. They're shit live too so people don't get off their holes to see them.

And lads, leave the fucking politics out of it.

They seem to have gotten a new energy with that Teemu fella on guitar in the few clips I've seen. Mustaines voice has always been a weak point live but the musicianship was still always top notch.

I'd consider this if Megadeth did a full length set or if I got to pick up a cheap ticket near the date

Megadeths last record sold twice what Disturbeds did. It debuted at #3 on the Billboard Chart.

Sales were shite for both in terms of their overall career-sales, but it doesn't explain the weirdness of the billing.

I enjoy a bit of Disturbed. I don't actively listen to them, but I have friends who are into them and I won't complain whenever they put them on. I like your man's funny voice  I've caught them twice at a festival and they sounded great.

I'd go see Megadave but I wouldn't be paying anywhere near big money. Yeah his voice isn't good live, and it hasn't been for a long time, but I can't say I've ever seen a bad set, the musicianship has always been ace. Or maybe I've just been drunk enough to not care. Thought they sounded good in '22 and '23 anyway

Don't give a shite about Disturbed but I'll be there for Megadeth. Was lucky to see the classic lineup in the SFX in 1995 on the Youthanasia tour. Also saw them with Chris Adler on Drums and Lamb of God supporting in the 3 Arena, I thought Dave was in great humour that day and I really enjoyed that gig, they played Lizzy's Cold Sweat too. Really looking forward to this now but would prefer to see them in The Academy but this is better than nothing.

Not true. Have a look at the overall sales figures please. Disturbed's record Immortalized (2015) did 1 million in the states alone.

Disturbed's fifth consecutive number one debut on the United States Billboard 200 chart. None of Megadeths Releases in the 2000s + come close to that, not even combined worldwide sales.

For similar vintage Super Collider did around 86K by the end of 2015 and has not budged really.

Yeah Sick Dying Dead made it to number 3 and did around 48K -but Disturbed like it or not have had more recent commercial success than Megadeth, even look at how successful that stupid cover of sound of silence was. They got massive airplay from that. And as a live act they still do much more numbers than Megadeth. Believe me I can't stand them  but it's ridiculous to think Megadeth would headline over them in the three arena. What did the last Megadeth show do there with Lamb of God supporting? It was less than 5K.

Megadeth have long slipped down the ranks - even with the big four thing they were told their placing was due to sales and live draw.

Pretty sure they toured as support to Five Finger Death Punch in the US a while ago too. You can't deny their legacy and the impact those early albums had, but their days as a big draw are long gone

I see what you did there...

Megadeth were playing the Ambassador 20 years ago and much closer to their pomp back then, so are never gonna headline a large venue here again unfortunately. Disappointed to see who they're supporting though. Any other band and I'd go to see Megadeth, but I'm not lining Draimans pockets this time. Can imagine there'll be a few protests in and outside this if the Palestine campaigners get wind of his actions.

Like the man in the orthopedic shoes, I stand corrected.
