Giving Howls of Dirision a full spin here now. I think the dude has lots of talent and a knack for writing a catchy, meaningful riff. I wish him well.

Edit. Just read your new post, Matt. I'm in the same boat as you. Burnt out. But I'm going to listen to it through. I think he's got heaps of talent and who knows how he might develop in future.

Listening now
... Opening track is great

Great riffage
Drums are very competent
Vocals are fairly nasty too

Drums are competent because they're programmed

One half of Howls of Derision here, appreciate the kind words and constructive criticism  ;D

Just to address the drums, yes they are programmed, but not by me, they were done by my old friend and now bandmate in this project, who is an amazing drummer himself and more than capable of pulling it off in "real life", but for logistical reasons we went down this route (seen as how it was all recorded in my bedroom anyway)

And yes, I'm very aware that it's not exactly groundbreaking stuff, it's very intentionally old school and fun and we tried to stick as much metal clichés in there as we could without being ridiculous.

Anyway, glad to hear people are actually listening!

Fair play, mate. For me, it's better than most things that are posted in here, which I just wouldn't be arsed commenting on. With real drums, given that's a possibility, and a dirtier production, it'd stand on its own much better but, if it's just a bedroom thing, it's spot on.

Cheers man! Yeah would love to get in a real studio in future, but you don't get much out of what you put in, been there before. Like some of ye mentioned, there's so much out there these days, it's like pissing into the wind most of the time  ;D

We are local ( and filthy ) and made a 1 track demo in our practice space.

Thank God Shauny saved every Irish metal band from having to record at Trackmix

Very true 😄 Great tune and the sound is massive. Artwork is great as well.

Very good. Fair play, gents. Looks like 2025 is shaping up to be a good year for local filth.
