Daycent stuff. Reminiscent of One Night In Bangkok (whether the original or the Vai cover).

Someone has uploaded the full album on youtube, imagine it will be taken down in not too long but having a listen now. It's very theatrical, in a King Diamond sort of way.

Akerfeldt back on the aul mires I see. He'll be gettin as bad as the boul Nemty with his gallows if he's not careful!

Mulling over this the last couple of days. Hasn't grabbed me as much as In Cauda Venenum, but it's def benefiting from how much I dig that album: if I'd heard this latest one a few years back I know I wouldn't have been giving it this much of a chance.

It's not bad but it's not grabbing me,drums are different but good.

Yes alot to unpack here, sounds good in first few listens

Hard to explain, since I think someone already made the comparison, why King Diamond can get away with singing about tea yet Akerfeldt growling "The last will and testament of faaather!" sounds... naff, is the first word that comes to mind

  .

Ah I'm enjoying it, very dense, some of the songs could have actually done with being a bit longer actually, never thought I'd hear Ian Anderson and Joey Tempest dueting over Opeth riffs  :abbath:.
