Anyone remember or attend this one? Was talking to someone about it but can't remember the details. It was in the outdoor area, memory is hazy but Abaddon Incarnate and Kingdom definitely played it. Seem to recall the event being shut down by the Gards before the headliners went on.

Does a flyer or a lineup exist?

we ran that gig, purcell, phil, bren and myself

2nd Sept 2000   Fibbers,    Abaddon Incarnate, Kingdom, Waylander, Mourning Beloveth, Geasa, honey for christ?

guards pulled the plug halfway through Geasa's set who were headlining. it was a deadly day out and made great use of that beer garden and such a shame a outdoor gig like it never happened again in fibbers.

moonfog might have played as well.. but not 100% on that

That's it Steve, thanks!

It was awesome, great sets by all. Sun was shining all day too, great stalls etc

Don't remember Moonfog though?

taken from the irish metal nostalgia FB page.
I guess the line up changed around a little

I was at this. I don't know how or who with but I remember being out in that beer garden in the sunshine and thinking it didn't suit the music. May have got there on the Waylander bus. I can categorically say I have zero recollection of any band or person I encountered. But I remember the fucking sunniness.

Seeing one of those flyers reminds me of the Day Of Darkness things in Abbeyleix.
Christ they were savage.
The idea of pacing the alcohol intake was alien. Get hammered, talk shit, headbang and eat burgers.
Living the dream.

Fibber Fest was a good day out and my first step into the local metal underground. I went to plenty of local punk gigs in the 90s, and bigger metal gigs but never took the local scene seriously before this point. There's a photo of the crowd from that day knocking about the internet.

DOD was always a fun and very messy day out.

Similar, I'd gone to a few things in Slattery's but this one was a bit of an awakening. Band of the day were Abaddon for me, such a surreal experience seeing them playing such ferocious material in the sunlight. To be fair, all the bands were cool but I never got HFC's stage antics, tumbles on the concrete, shaping, posing and whatnot. Always thought they were a cool enough band musically but that's a memory from the day that sticks out for perhaps the wrong reasons.

I saw the singer from HFC has his own podcast on YouTube. I didn't watch it and I can't remember the name but as soon as I saw him I remembered him.

Got a link? We talking about the original singer here Jason?

Yep, Jason. No idea what it was called. I clicked on it for a few seconds and moved on intending to go back to it but completely forgot what it is called.
