This guy is an American cousin of some kind of mine, and he toured here last year. I had no idea, but my dad knows his American side of the family well so went to see him and brought back a copy of this on vinyl.

I just remembered to give it a spin for the first time this evening and I'm rightly impressed. Chill folk, with gorgeous production and full band arrangements, and enough twists and influences to keep it interesting, doesn't fall into the trap of some folk in similar styles. This'll be a repeater for sure.

My first foray into the early stuff and it's unrecognisable as the same band - which, I suppose, it isn't as there was a different line-up - with a completely different sound. All psychedelic garage rock and post-punk. It's only OK TBH, I shall press on.

Did I click in part because those mountains remind me of one of the book covers to The Hobbit? Yes. But that is a lovely song and I'm now enjoying listening to the rest of that recording. Something I'd definitely be interested in grabbing a physical copy of, if not mental expensive to get over here.

That's a little beaut alright. Reminds me a bit of something that I can't quite place. A bit of Pentangle maybe... sounds like a little gem you'd hear on an indie film.
