That's a killer lineup, where was that on?

The Dead Congregation release schedule is sparse, but unintentionally, it has really kept me interested in them. Had they racked up and album every 2-3 years, I'd have probably lost heed in them, whereas I'll go through a burst of listening to them still, a few times a year.

It was am Aus/NZ tour, I caught it in Brisbane. Weirdly low turn out, probably max 60 people if even.

And yeah true, that's a good point. It could go either way, where do they go from here? They could go out on a high and call it quits or just tour these albums forever but then look at the likes of Immolation and Incantation, they released some of their best stuff 3 or 4 albums in so I'm always hopeful.

Immolation have a more or less flawless back catalogue and I'll pick up every new release, but once a new one comes out, more often than not, the one prior starts to gather dust. They're high quality but expendable too.

Graves of the Archangels could legally buy a pint in Ireland now but it somehow still sounds kinda fresh.

Dunno what my point is, but in that sorta 08-14 period lots of "throwback" death metal came, most of it it went, but DC always have my interest.

Atonement is at the top of the pack when it comes to post-Unholy Cult Immolation, the other recent ones I find just sort of blend in to each other but they knocked it out of the park with that one.

Just listening to the Yosuke/NWN interview with J-Dawg/HellsHeadbangers and he's trying to get a new Blasphemy album out, now if there was ever a band that didn't need a new release it's Blasphemy!

Been talk of a new Blasphemy album since Victory (Son of the Damned) was released 25 years ago it's never going to happen. Ryan is the only one in the band with any drive the rest couldn't be bothered. More chance of seeing the Sadistic Intent or Dark Sonority full lengths than a 3rd Blasphemy album.
