Are System Of A Down just Mr Bungle worshippers with bigger guitar tone and politics.?. Case in point, 'Chop Suey' time changes, heavy/alternative/grunge all in the space of a few minutes, but more irritating than Bungle. Never got the hype.

Disco Volante wants a word with you

The Nu Metal brigade did lift a fair bit from the first album for sure. Thieving cunts!

Ah yeah there's a lot of bands clearly influenced by the debut but Disco Volante seems to have rubbed off on nobody at all really. Probably just impossible, I'm sure many would try otherwise

Was on about it here before somewhere, SOAD lifted a lot off Primus for sure.

I must give Mr. Bungle another go, listened to some of their stuff over the years but never thought much of it.

Three fucking brilliant albums and then the last thing which did nothing for me. They're all very different to one another so if you don't like one that wouldn't necessarily mean you wouldn't like the others.

Disco Volante is one of the best things by anyone ever

The first SOAD is great. I was never into Mr Bungle but siesta detected a Patton influence. SOAD has more of a punk energy on the debut. I've said it before but the production on the debut is savage. The guitars are nasty as hell. I probably wouldn't get so much out of it these days but when it came out it really stood out in a sea of shit as being something quite fresh and exciting.

Always thought they were closer to Faith No More than Mr. Bungle myself. I remember at Ozzfest Serj started talking about some major influence on them and I was certain he was going to say FNM but then it was Slayer, so presumably just a sort of fan thing since Araya and the lads were playing after them. A slightly metallized FNM with their own Armenian twist. Listening to the debut here now for the first time in fucking ages. It absolutely pumps along  :abbath:

The first album still sounds savage and its down to that D Sardy mix on it. (Rubin doing his usual :shows up once a week, sits on a couch collects 50 grand, fucks off)
He also did Undisputed Attitude and Imprint by Vision Of Disorder.

Yeah that first album always sounded like a record full of "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies", with some lad who has serious hero worship for Jello Biafra squawking over it.

Just hearing Eivor- TrĂ³llabundin on Uncharted with Ray Goggins ( with Kneecap)

Enjoyed the fuck out of that show.

Iommi has to get Tony Martin or someone back for a new album now, can't go to the grave with his last recorded output being with Robbie Williams, them's the rules.
