Did Jack not join some rock band with a girl singer just prior to his CC departure? I want to say they were called Adrift or something but I might be thinking of Alas, Rutan's yoke. I vaguely remember him saying something about not wanting to play metal anymore around the time.

the writing was on the wall around the Wretched Spawn. I remember watching the DVd that cane with it and jack Owen playing acoustic guitar....

I've only ever seen bits of that DVD on YouTube but from what I have seen, it looks like each guitarist was responsible for tracking their songs themselves, as in Jack not being present during the Frantic Disembowelment clip and Pat being absent during Decency Defied.

yea, thats right. I recently watched the episode of Brian Slagels podcast with corpse drummer paul and he said they did that as the guitar tracks would be tighter. Was on about Scourge Of Iron being recorded by Barrett and not Pat. Makes sense

Think that Paul and Alex are on the same page and they call the shots, think Barrett is prob a bit of a contrarian considering the way he left in 1997 - Lee from Monstrosity mentions that Barrett had a problem with Paul's drumming during the Vile sessions in 96, think he was a bit of a purist maybe. Also an interesting bit I found was Paul discussing Hammer Smashed Face on some podcast, and said they the band split up briefly after Butchered and Birth tour finished, with Alex and Paul decamping for a couple of weeks into a new practise room, where Hammer Smashed Face came about. I'd say it's a bit like Kirk Hammett - keep quiet and we'll let you hang around.

yea, it seems like the Paul and Alex show. One would wonder about Corpse grinder too. He seems to be a yes man by the looks of it, and he doesn't really contribute to the song writing at all. Still one of my favourite vocalists mind. And he done his solo album too, not like the lads weren't letting him do that.

Barnes contributed more to CC in 4 records than Corpse Grinder has over what 12? The same vocal performance over and over again. Don't get me wrong liked the first few he did with them but it's worn a little thin over the years.

I would agree for the most part. I think it is the production on later albums being near identical along with his vocals
