Zealot Cult + Grave Sermon announced.

Amazing response to this gig isn't it... Whatever you say about it, it really is just a tribute act. I'm seriously considering going

Shame about the new venue Whelans would have been so much better.

Have never been to Opium. That big barrier separating what would normally be DJs from punters a permanent fixture? If so yeah...Whelans seems better for this kind of death mankiness.

Saw Primordial there last year. No issues with the place

It is what the village use to be and it hasn't really changed a whole lot. I have been at plenty gigs in the venue over the years and never liked it. Entrance is right in the middle of the venue so if it is packed like Godflesh was last November it is pretty annoying even trying to just get inside, toilets are right up at the side of the stage so you have to fight your way through the crowd if you need to take a piss and like you said the sound / mixing desk is right in the centre of the floor.

Yeah Whelans is much better. When Opium is packed it's a pain in the hoop trying to get a decent view, to get to the bar or the toilet.

yea, the Opium has a very poor layout. The village had a way better layout if my memory serves correct? The Pint Bar or whatever its called now would be the best spot I think. Love that venue and the layout. Even Voodoo lounge has a better layout and that's saying something

Sure fuck it. The fact that I normally hate crowds is probably part of the reason I love live metal so much. You'd expect so much bouncing around - especially at a gig like this - that I never feel bad moving in and out of people to go take a piss and get a pint.

The 3 Arena is the worst for it. Worse than any big outdoor show. Something about that place just makes people protect their spots like fucking mad. Always feels weirdly tense up front for a lot of shows.

I think the only real change from the Village is the mixing desk being in the middle of the floor or was that always there? I seem remember it being up the back somewhere.

I have never been upstairs in the village is that open to everyone like the upstairs in the Academy or is it closed off and only for bands / staff etc.

Not surprised this show is selling well sure didn't both DTA tours a few years ago sell out the Academy. Those shows were great even the fact that they managed to find a vocalist who looked exactly like Chuck

Ack, I see it sold out 2 weeks ago. I'm a bit late to be looking into it I guess!

Couple gone up on Ticketmaster a few minutes ago! Just seen it on DME's socials.

Going to put my ticket up on Ticketmaster in a minute. Absolutely gutted to have got covid.

As you can probably tell from my username, I am a bit of a fan!

What's the best spot to park around Opium? I got parking nearby for the decapitated gig last year but it was a 2hr max stay ended up having to move the fucking thing halfway through the gig whatever way things worked out.
