Ya, it's savage. Haven't keep up with them for the last few albums but this is class.

I hope they make their way dayn andah! I've seen them live four times and they are ferocious, although the last time I saw them was in The Button Factory and the volume was way too low. All you could hear was fucking twits at the bar talking throughout the gig.

Did Drainland support that night or am I hallucinating?

We did. If you hallucinated as a result, that's even better.

On about my 3rd listen now. As well as Turner fitting in so well what's really sticking out to me is how well the samples/keys/soundscapey bits work on this record, feels more prominent and adds so much, like a kind of harsh psychedelia. I know they've always been there but they feel like a really big part of this record.

Yeah. I wonder if Steve brought some more of that in to the mix. Definite touches of Harvestman detectable.

That's a welcome return alright, really hope they tour! Only caught them once and it was immense.

Hyped for this. Last few have all been very good, but they never stick - after a month or two I'm probably not reaching for them again. All worthy though,I'd say.

NeurIsis!

On my first spin and very much liking it. Nice to hear Turner doing his Sumac growls.

On a second listen here, definitely their liveliest in a long time.

Had it on three times yesterday and it is going on again once I get into the car.  Just unreal.  Possibly best since Times of Grace is right.  I see it is recorded & mixed by Scott Evans from Kowloon Walled City again too, he has done an awful lot of lethal albums lately, no exception here.

Listened to it twice last night, can't fault it. Will be back on it today so. Be grabbing the vinyl.

The best since The Eye of Every Storm at least. Time will tell where it ultimately stands in their catalogue.

Yeah definitely.  One thing about the run of albums after TOG is they were less immediate but held up great or improved as they got older/more familiar.  This is a more immediate album than those anyway

Finally getting to listen now, sounds great so far (track 3). What's immediately apparent is the huge upgrade in production without Albini, there are actual dynamics to be heard.

I dunno if your whole Albini thing is just to troll people or what but if there was ever a band who benefitted from his production its Neurosis.
