I'm on a mad buzz for 'Triune Impurity Rites' at the minute, having not listened to it in a long time. What a great album. Thinking back to that period of time in the later end of the 00s and the amount of incredible death metal that was coming out back then- Dead Congregation, Diocletian, Witchrist, Antediluvian, Grave Miasma, Cruciamentum and so on. Necros Christos were right up the front of that wave for me. They developed a really unique sound that cut through clearly and riffs that stuck in your head for days. I love 'Domedon Dexomedon' but the stuff in between it and the debut didn't catch my attention in the same way so I'll have to revisit them now. I was lucky to catch them live on two occasions, once at Hell's Pleasure and at the ferocious gig in The Pint. I'll have to check out the Sijjin album but I'm not sure if that band have what it takes to compete at the same level of creativity as NC.

Ps. I'm all for the interludes too  8)

Quite possibly among the greatest bands of the 2000s. I was able to catch them live only once and it was a bit disappointing tbh, but I've respected them even more since they have stopped. I truly hope they don't come back one day to taint their own legacy like many others did. I'd like to see another Ra Al Dee Experience album though... those interludes are brilliant!

I liked the Sijjin debut, zero creativity as every song has a recycled classic riff from Morbid angel, Metallica, Deicide and others but they really know how to put tunes together. I don't think it's a band that would stand on its own legs though... take the "new band from NC members" out of their promotion and one would have to know very little about metal to say that's a unique record. That's not to say it isn't an exciting album...

Never really checked these out, despite hearing plenty about them when they were about. From the few tracks I listened to there, I think I've missed out.

Great band TIR, Loss split and the EP are classics but I think the second album was ruined by every song on it being dragged out with filler. Still getting into the last album listen to bits and pieces here and there. The concept of the album really interests me which is why I keep working hard trying to get into it.

The Sijjin demo was good and the album is great. Completely different to NC so I don't really think you can compare the two.

Yeah great band, been a while since i actually gave them a good spin though!

TIR is a classic but it's rare that I'd throw on Doom of The Occult these days. Loved the Abysmal Grief style keys on some of the choruses like 'Christ Was Not of Goatborn Blood'. Actually come to think of it, a lot of their tracks put a heavy emphasis on an emphatic chorus, which is a strange one for death metal.

That was indeed a great time for death metal . Seemed like every other month there was a gig in Dublin that had to be hit, and the gigs were nicely packed too.
