I tried a lot of times and can't really get into Dead Again. It just doesn't feel like a proper type o album for some reason

Agreed. It never clicked with me either.

I'm gonna try it again maybe this evening and see if I missed anything but it's been out a fair few years now without winning me over. Life is Killing Me is only so so as well. The Great bits are great but a lot of it is only middling

Oh man, Profits of Doom,  Hail and Farewell to England and These Three Things are among the best songs they've written. The rest is really bloody good too. The only one I'm not really into is Halloween in Heaven.

Was subjected to Dead Again on manys the occasion in McLove's old snot mobile. Always really liked it. Halloween in Heaven included.

Hail and Farewell.. is the definite highlight of the whole thing and indeed stands up with any of the rest

Yknow is hard to disagree that any single song on that album is in any way bad now that I'm thinking about it. Why then does it leave me cold as it does? I honestly don't know. It's a bit like the way NIN are my favorite but no matter what I do, With Teeth just doesn't feel great even though I like every song in isolation.

That's something worth thinking of - bad albums full of great songs
