I'm not one to shy away from asking the tough questions, as you know, and the time is right to finally get to the bottom of what makes Mr. Mustaine such a sensitive pansy.

Justice 4 Wanky!

The fact that Megadeth and Metallica are still being talked about in 2021 despite having amassed 4 good albums altogether in 4 decades is still a mistery to me.

But to answer your question, whatever the shade, they probably have remained untouched by anyone other than himself since his last childhood church confession...hence his personality.

Ah, that's a bit unfair to him. I'd say the priest didn't go near him either.

I know,  imagine 2 of the biggest metal bands being talked about on a metal forum..

Ah here, they have at least that many great albums each.

Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets, ...And Justice For All, s/t & Peace Sells, So Far So Good So What, Rust In Peace. 8 between them.

Black Album, Countdown and Youthanasia are all good albums imo.

Seems like I shot myself in the foot by actually starting a conversation about it haha...

I enjoy Metallica up to Master..., but that's pub music to me as I wouldn't spin them at home. I also remember liking Killing is My Business, which I haven't listened to since I was a teenager. But in all fairness, Rust in Peace and Black Album have good songs which I don't enjoy listening to. I just hate Mustaine's voice and Black Album is more of a Rock album than a Metal album to me, it's also incredibly overplayed. Youthanasia though, that reeks of everything that was shite in the 90s: Heavy music mellowing down, groove, and lack of metal aesthetics.

Another truer than thou Edgelord.

Never thought much of Killing Is My Business, I still remember the intense disappointment I felt on listening to it on my trusty walkman on the train home from Galway, having been a huge fan of Peace Sells and SFSGSW. I couldn't believe it was the same band at all. Countdown and Youthanasia are just MegaDave chasing the Black Album money. Some good songs, maybe 8 or 9 between them. 1-2 decent tracks per album after that. Rust In Peace is their peak, no question. Dawn Patrol aside it's perfect.

The Black Album is a great pop/metal album, but I overplayed it so much back then that I have no need to ever hear it again. Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven can fuck eternally off, though.

I think KIMB and SFSGSW were tarred a bit with the piss weak production jobs, although the remixed version of KIMB that came out a year or two ago is better.

I also think the weak cover tunes on the first three albums diluted them a bit, always made me tip towards Metallica in the whole Megadeth vs Metallica argument.

Yeah KIMB was a huge disappointment when I heard it. Everything about it seemed so amateur and cheap. Even the miserable two page cassette inlay. Countdown was the first metal album I bought and I'll always include that as one of their great albums.

I feel we are getting off topic. Can we stay focused on the pubes, please.

Interesting to see "strawberry blonde" taking such a huge lead. It really goes to show how little you people think of The Stain.
