Some nice tributes in this Blabbermouth article and a bit of back story on his cancer diagnosis...

https://blabbermouth.net/news/entombed-a-d-singer-lars-goran-petrov-dead-at-49/

Bile duct cancer, never heard of it before,it seems fairly rare. Its attached to the liver?,id say auld LG gave his liver a good seeing to over the years.30 years of touring and living the heavy lifestyle bound to takes its its toll on some of these guys.

Ah the poor fella, horrible way to go. RIP.
Was never big into Entombed myself, not that there was anything wrong with them, anything of theirs I've heard I liked, just one of those bands that passed me by.
Not to speak Ill of the dead, but I'm sure I heard before that LG had to leave Entombed over drunkenly making a pass at the drummers woman.
It stuck in my mind because it reminded me of Phil Rudd being booted outa AC/DC over trying it on with Malcom Youngs woman.

Malcolm Young is a woman? Jesus, you read it here first. RIP Bon  :'(

That was in 91 and was back in Entombed the following year

'Wolverine Blues' was a favourite album of mine as a youngster back then, along with 'Left Hand Path'...very sad news, RIP LG.

Judging by my Facebook feed (and even this thread), quite a few people don't realise that he wasn't on Clandestine, it seems.

An absolute and genuine giant of the original underground scene. And absolutely sound when I got to meet him thanks to the Day of Darkness lads.

I know it's been mentioned in the "notable deaths" thread I've never liked, but if LG Petrov leaving us doesn't merit its own homage thread here, well, then what are we here for?? Thanks for all the weeks and weeks worth of hours of enjoyment  :abbath: :abbath: :abbath:
Very true.....

Here's another nicely written article from Louder about the great man....

A couple of lads mentioned that Entombed kinda passed them by. They're a band well worth checking out let me tell you....

Ties in with his short departure always forget he wasn't on the album.

Wolverine Blues will always be my favourite of their albums. Just such catchy memorable beast. Such a shame to hear about this now, glad I got to see Entombed twice anyway

I only ever got to see Entombed A.D. there in 2017.
But still....

I got into Entombed just before this came out so have a real attachment to this album.

As much as i love old school DM,and LHP and Clandestine are at the centre of that, i reach for Wolverine Blues and To Ride.. a lot over the years.

Shitty news. I picked up Left Hand Path just because I thought it had a cool cover, had never really heard any sort of death metal before and was just amazed by it
