Quote from: Mooncat on February 10, 2025, 03:02:50 AMI just showed my girlfriend the album cover and she thought they were called Dessert Time. Which is obviously hilarious given the nature of the band/Jon.

Even funnier, when you look at it it genuinely does look a bit like that.

Between Dessert Time and the circus we've thoroughly ruined the mystique of this band.

No.
Dessert time at the circus of brilliance. It's killer and that guitar lick is brilliant.
Even the start of the album, that drum roll into that furious gallop type part.
No big tops in sight.

Ya, I can't hear it. Maybe I didn't go to enough circus (circi?) At a child.

I do agree it sounds nothing like a circus (Sweet Child O Mine had the same criticism and I don't hear it there either), I just thought it was funny combined with Dessert Time.

I also agree that it's a cool guitar lick, but also that such a bluesy sounding lick sounds out of place compared to what's going on around it. His sense of melody in general though is impeccable. They'd be one of those bands it'd be hard to take influence from because you'd just end up directly copying them.

Angels is the weakest song on the album - it's ok but sounds like they trying to write a hit or something, it's no Soul Reaper.

The live version of Angels on the rebirth DVD is great. Not my favourite song but only because all the rest is so good.

Le Clercq that did Bass on the last Dissection album recently gave an interview and talks about his time in the band,it's at the beginning.
