I'd be a fried tomato in less than an hour if I was working on the roads here at the moment! Funny you should put it that way though, as the novelty this time around is it actually pretty much is cash; an off-the-books (but legal) donation from a bona fide patron released in 12 installments. Fierce aul feckin' renaissance feel off it!

I'm glad I don't have kids.

So was I. It's one of those things where you won't miss em if you never have em but you wouldn't do without them if you do. Until they become teenagers. Then they won't even be your kids anymore, they will be fell creatures set in the place of the loving children you once knew. So yeah, both approaches are valid.

The unbridled love you have for them, especially ages 3-5/6, is irreplaceable. They start with the backchat then, but you get used to it. The teenage shit I don't want to even consider.

I see couples out with their little hellions screaming their heads off and the parents getting more and more frustrated and I think to myself and laugh, "Yeah, kids are a blessing".
They could be alright for spare parts, if the have to right type of blood or you need a new kidney, but fuck, all you'd have to put up with to get it, I don't think it would be worth it.

My hearing's gradually improving, so that's something.

What eardrops did you use Carnage? Im kinda blocked in my right ear at the mo. Mine get blocked every 2 odd years. Apparently it's endemic in hayfever sufferers.

Exterol, about €8.50 a bottle.

I'm not convinced they made any difference, I used them for 5 days and there was no improvement until I stopped. To be honest, I think I ruptured my eardrum and it wasn't a wax build up, but I don't know. My brother swears by them, he gets his ears done every year or so too.

The hayfever thing is interesting, I never had it 'til 5 or 6 years ago but it hit hard then. Flares up sporadically, but there might be a link. Doc on Monday, regardless.

Yeah i was worried about it until my doctor mentioned about the hayfever then it made total sense.

No damage to my ears, there's air trapped behind my eardrums, the difference in pressure is what's affecting my hearing. Antihistamines will sort it, but it's nearly back to normal now anyway.

Fair to say that I am relieved.

Anyone else find their allergies worse than usual this year? I've been getting eaten alive by the midges in a far worse way this year than I remember ever happening before. So the simple pleasure here is antihistamine and eurax cream. Otherwise I'd have scratched myself to death.

No, which is surprising given how much time I've spent in the bog so far. The doc today told me to stay on the antihistamines as long as the weather's hot and dry, as that was what he reckoned was the cause of what happened to me. My sinuses have been a bit raw the last few weeks but when the hayfever kicks in, I've usually got the runny eyes and ears going. None of that so far this year. I'm gonna stay on them for a while anyway.

I might have to do the same and just take an anti hist every day until the midges leave me alone. I must have 200 bites on the legs this minute and I even have em under my eyes and along my scalp. This is my third time getting the awful doing in the last month so preventative measures will likely be the order of the day. Normally I'd be fairly sensitive to it but it's next level shit this year

I rarely have much trouble from them, for whatever reason. At a barbecue/piss up in a mate's a few weeks back the other were being eaten alive and I was fine, and most of them smoke.

I reckon the late spring is the cause of them being so bad, everyrhing seems to be a month late and on overload to catch up.

To be fair the wife and kids were with me and nothing happened them at all. It must be just me they despise!
