Aha very good so I hadn't missed the complete denial of the protests themselves that was only to be found on social media (don't go find it, let me have this one lol) but I did miss the election part entirely.

Great result really so rutte and his pals at the wef can go suck a fat Micky the rotten fucks.  :)

The exchange between him and Thierry Baudet over his reading of Klaus Schwab's book was an absolute classic that was also memory holed by pretty much all media but was very telling about where rutte's allegiances lie.

Anyway I'm sure the wef will come up with a way around it

The feeling of coming back to life after a couple of rum and cokes to cure a hangover. Or at least postpone it another day. Today is that day, but that would be for another thread!  :-X

There's no feeling like the cure kicking in tbf. The relief.

Some laugh alright. Provided, obviously, that it doesn't turn in to another rip and that's you needing snookers the day after.

This is it. 3 to 5 beers to cure the hangover and then leave it alone.

Quote from: Ollkiller on March 13, 2023, 10:42:19 PMLanded in New York today and found out weed is now legal here.  8)  :abbath:

So New York is damn expensive now. Bang of weed everywhere now. Not like Amsterdam where it has to be in a cafe. You can smoke a joint on the street on from what I saw no one gives a shit. Way to have it really.

The Met was awesome and went to the Bronx, Yonkers and Queens the days I wasnt in Manhattan. Leas expensive and just as much craic.

My sister and her husband recently moved to NYC, 6 grand a month to rent a two bedroom apartment. 6 grand! What's that, 8 months of mortgage payments here or at home?

Crazy money alright. Was talking to a few people there who said you can get a room for 1200 to 1600 dollars a month. Still nuts money.

Digging out some old cds and realising they are scratched to fu#k,only to remember I still have my old dell PC and can instantly burn new copy's which I have just done. ::)

Was out at work today, clearing up a massive mess. Leaking roof, water everywhere, stock to be moved/thrown out, cleaning up/mopping... all that shite. Got manky, covered in stagnant water, hurt my back lugging boxes and fittings around, blah blah balh.

The simple pleasure is the post shower/dinner flop on the couch, fire on, with that specific tiredness/contenment you only enjoy after a physical day and a job done. Have a coupla beers and a bottle of wine in the gaff that are calling, too...

Whenever that happens me I do the same, just burn a copy off the hard drive and throw it in the box along with the scratched original. Tis grand to be burning CDs

Couple of tuna sangwidges, mug o'tae, bowl of flavoursome crisps and a Still Game marathon for the afternoon. Git it right up yis, magic :)

Were you able to rip them on the PC without skips?
I have a great (entirely mad) and scratched to bits CD of Kosovar Albanian pop music.
It plays no bother in the car as the CD player has some sort of cache system for playback.
No go on every CD player inside the house.
I've found a local shop that sells 2nd hand PS3 and PS4 games and charges $3 to buff out and recondition discs if all sorts.
