Thought they split years ago. Mongrain seems busy and happy with Voivod.

They've played a handful of shows and festivals the last couple of years, mainly in Canada. Maybe if Voivod take some downtime they might head across this way

God forbid Al & Co not to do variations on Just One Fix & Psalm69 on the farewell. Probably a little stronger than the last two but forgettable and nowhere near future proof as The Land/The Mind/Psalm still are.

Gave it a lash, it's just alright. Delete for example, I was almost calling it quits at that point. Awfully annoying samples, perhaps it's the way in which they're edited! Just way too polished and not gritty enough for my taste.

It's mixed really well but definitely too clean sounding. If they busted out the older samplers and synths it might have helped, then again most of that gear was wrecked by drugs.

Recall reading Fear Factory turning up in the Wax Trax studio in  Chicago to mix Demanufacture only to find the  board only capable of ten tracks as Uncle Al & Co had wrecked it with a variety of powders, fluids and fuck knows what else.

WASP - The Headless Children...been a few years..this is what its all about really isnt it- If an alien landed and asked what's heavy metal I'd probably play em the title track

The tone Chris Holmes got out of his guitar on this album is absolutely unequivocally otherworldly!
It's the album I play most by them. Even though The Electric Circus was the first LP I bought by them.
Blackie's voice is the epitome of HM vocals.

Agree with all of that, quintessential Heavy Metal, it was my first by them and much as I like the rest of their stuff,  nothing touched this.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Just lashed it on earlier. It's so so good...

Might fire it on tomorrow.

Been a while since I listened to WASP, must stick some on later.

Midnight Prey - Jenseitsritt
Moonspelll - Wolfheart
iron Maiden - Iron Maiden

The Headless Children and the first two albums are all mighty. I can do without the rest.

Love all W.A.S.P. up to The Crimson Idol.
After that is meh!

Halloween tunes so far:

Trouble - The Skull
King Diamond - Conspiracy
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast

Tempted to go for Culte des Ghouls next, but that might get vetoed pretty fast

flamekeeper - We who light the fire

acid witch - witchtanic hellucinations

Fear Factory: Obsolete

First time listening to this for a long time, it holds up well.

I remember heading into Bruxelle's with my brother the day they were touring this in the SFX, meeting a friend (who was playing with Old Season at the time). Apart from being told we couldn't sit where we went to park our arse, the sneers because we were going to see a 'jugga' band were as pathetic as they were elitist. Never mind that I'd supported this twat's previous bands, gone to gigs with him, stayed in his gaff and put him up in mine, loaned him money, even introduced him to people he wouldn't have met otherwise. The condescension from him and his crew was utterly fucktarded. And he a White Zombie enthusiast!

I've never set foot in that shithole or spoken to that fuckwit since. That was the end of my association with the 'scene'.
