Only had one spin of the Forbidden but it went down well with me I must say, one track in particular about 4 or 5 in, dude was really taking an Anderson vocal pattern from something, Step By Step maybe, ..but yeah it's an early,.tentative thumbs up from me. It helps when you go into an album really wanting to like it of course.

A bit more of Handel's Messiah. I'm starting to develop a little taste for opera singing.

Godflesh- Decay. Is that warpy section in Master and Slave a nod to My Bloody Valentine, I wonder.

Strange, it's an objectively awful album. Generally thought of as Maiden's low point. Even the remastered version is only OK.

It's definitely a bit on the raw side for Maiden, but it's fucking great. So much energy and loads of deadly, post- classic era stuff on disc 2, which is the one I've been spinning. It works for me.

Space Chaser - Razorblade Bay (really don't like the vocals, shame as the guitar work is great)
Monolord - Neverending
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind

Well I reckon you did me a favour with lowering my expectations with that Whirlwind, just had a listen there and I like it, a bit uptempo and over exuberant for this time of the morning but  sure I'm not supposed to be falling asleep here anyway hehe, I reckon I may even throw it in the cart next time I hit DV, I think they have a good balance there between the melodic Power Metal on one hand while retaining a bit of Trad. grit, is it the vocals that lost ya or what?

Eh, wait, where the fuck did it go from the quote?!
