Burzum- Hvis Lysett Tar Oss.

Might be my favourite of his but it is a hard competition.  Last few times I had Burzum in rotation it was a couple of the later albums.  Belus and Fallen.  Great too in their own way.

Yeah, both of those are really great albums.

A-tota-so - "I Told You So"

Sort of post-hardcore, sort of midwest emo, great songs, quick and to the point.  Deadly album.  Looking forward to seeing these lads at the Siege next month after listening to this.

Nails - "Fear Based Life"

Deadly two songs, it's Nails, you know what you are getting, guitar tone would melt your face.

Melt Banana - "Cell Scape"

Punk/noise rock with everything feeling like it is running 10,000 miles an hour.  Didn't know this particular album until lately but love "Fetch".  This is great too.

Still listening to Hum and Russian Circles otherwise, also gave the new Chat Pile a go and enjoyed it but want to sit with it for a bit.

Neurosis- A Sun That Never Sets.  The artwork on this looked like shit when it came out in 2001. It still looks like shit in 2026. The music is great, though.

Give it and the new devil master 2 spins earlier as seeing both next week. Think the most recent sigh ive actually listened to is in somniphobia which was 2012?

Enjoyed it a lot. Its very folky in places which i enjoyed. Seemed like most parts had something going in the background. Dunno if the more reecebt albums had that vibe but will definitely check them out if so.

New devil master is great too. Cathy af and probably the most varied work yet

Just been through it, a lot to digest as expected, it's very much it's own unique beast ,In Somniphobia is a personal favourite for me in their discography, this new one is more eclectic even by Sigh standards, almost an uplifting carnival feel at times that I didn't quite take to on that one listen but at the same time I wouldn't want a Sigh record to sit well after one listen.  Say nowt til the CD or vinyl has been got and broke in I suppose!

Never heard of Devil Master at all but if they're on Relapse which I think they are I'll probably end up there at some stage.

In Somniphobia is definitely the better of the newer era that ive heard.

Theres a lot going on but i found ut very immediate compared to some of their other albums. Each section has a lot going on at once rather than 6 seperate sections of different genres shoehorned together. Its very catchy at times too which helps.

Devil master are philly black metal punks with a bit of a spooky stick and catchier than it should be. Theyve blown up some how the last while. Guitarist /mainsong writter's from Derry, plays in bogside sniper squadron and a ream of other stuff.
