Yep this album is a fantastic collection of class tunes, the production and fluctuating volume aside . The cro-mags age of quarrel suffers with the same attributes. Makes me wonder were the any of the band members in the room to hear the final mixes at the time. Still great albums .

Acheron- Anti-God, Anti-Christ.

I bought this the best part of twenty years ago and gave it a couple of listens before shelving it and forgetting about it. Pulled it out for a revisit this morning and its time appears to have come for me. Despite the endless intros and the twenty empty tracks leading to an outro, it's fucking deadly. Atmospheric and catchy black/ death metal which could only have been concocted in America.

I caught them twice in 2000. They played in TBMC and then I saw them in Barcelona the same year, or the year after, while over there on a college excursion. They were deadly live. Pure madness

Obliteration  = Nekropsalms/Black Death Horizon/Cenotaph Obscure  - hadnt listened to them in ages, but what a fucking band.
Purulent Remains - demos - not the biggest fan of gore grind/Cracass worship but this is one of the exceptions. Just dark, murky gloomy death/grind, hitting the spot today
Monstrosity - Imperial Doom  -When this came out I found it pretty meh as I'd made my first steps into the wild world of tape trading and was starting to dig into darker, heavier mostly Euro/Scandinavian stuff and had enough of the Florida thing, but I really enjoy this nowadays whenever the Floridian itch needs scratching.

on the non death metal buzz:
Quicksand - Bring On the Psychics - yeah, I like it (Second half epecially) but I dunno..it just doesn't sound like Quicksand? Feels weirdly rushed as well, a lot of  the songs seem to  be under the 3 minute mark. No time to get bored, of course but..yeah. it's an odd one.
