Aridus - Serpent Moon

Immolation - Descent
Burning Path - Burning Path
Death - Human
Venger - Times of Legend
Mayhem - Liturgy of Death (I actually quite like this).
Kreator - Coma of Souls

Brainbombs - Obey

Maybe this should be in Non-Metal Listening, but the guitars can be filth, as well as the lyrics & general vibe

Cannibal Corpse would probably call this a bit too far  :P

Elegant Weapons - Evolution

Metal Church - Dead To Rights

Black Label Society - Engines Of Demolition

Death Dealer - Conquered Lands

Coincidentally, despite knowing the name for a long time I only actually checked them out last night on YouTube. Demented sounding stuff. Must give them another go.

Trouble - The Skull 9/10
Double Trouble this week after following up their livestream from KiT with this monument of soulful, pragmatic Doom Metal.

Satyricon  - Dark Medieval Times 9/10
A precocious talent young Satyr, but he hadn't quite grasped the art of the Black Metal pose here, popping up like a raccoon in the snow or inadvertently appearing to be taking a leak against a tree in the woods.

Exumer - Rising From The Sea 7.5/10
The German's 1987 sophomore release, now forging their blue collar thrash in the wake of Reign In Blood the previous year, and it shows.

Powerrage - Beast 7.5/10
When John Ricci from Exciter said he was doing a total reset with this new band he wasn't kidding, this is a waaay more oppressive ,malevolent ..beast..that will largely depend on people's stomach for these vocals as to whether it flies or flops. Me, I'm digging it.

Gamma Ray - To The Metal 6/10
Not a highlight of the Hansen discography this one, for me, the Father of Power Metal and his merry men here delivering a mostly middle of the road set of tracks that are very much in the shadow of those from the likes of Majestic or No World Order.

Cyclone Temple - I Hate Therefore I Am 5/10
From the remnants of the pretty killer Znowhite came the pretty bland Cyclone Temple with their rather milquetoast take on thrash that has it's moments but is ultimately stunted by a propensity for plodding riffs and, at times, some pretty juvenile lyric writing.

Stormwitch : best of (CD)

Grave Digger : Excalibur (CD)

Grave Digger: Tunes of War (CD)

Motörhead: No Sleep Till Hammersmith (LP)

Do love a bit of Stormwitch.

Leatherhead - Violent Horror Stories (this really is a wee gem of a release from No Remorse - I imagine it as if Agent Steel and Crimson Glory had a baby and brought it up the right way).

Transilvania - Magia Posthuma (picked this up in my last Invictus order, having never heard a note of them before.  It is a decent album)

Enslaved - Frost

Lordian Guard - Lordian Guard (the lyrical themes wouldn't be for everyone but always loved this release).

Death - Leprosy

Lovin' that Leatherhead myself. Actually used to live near Leatherhead in England too!

Cirith Ungol - Frost & Fire

Death - The Sound of Perseverance.

Up there with Nevermore for an award for the best albums with dogshit album art.

Blut Aus Nord - Ethereal Horizons. Last few didnt click with me but this is hitting the spot! Another solid release.

Crouch - Breaking the Catatonic State
This is essential listening for any sludge fans. Unbelievably good from start to finish.

Goatsnake - Dog Days
Kyuss- Welcome To Sky Valley
