Candlemass - Tales of Creation
Bathory - Blood on Ice
SexMag - Sexorcysm
Order From Chaos - An Ending in Fire

Deliquesce - Saviour/Enslaver. Riffs heavily on classic Suffocation, but when it's a better Suffocation record than most of their own, that's okay. With just the right amount of Defeated Sanity noodling too.

New Converge again. Agree with Mr. Grimes, absolutely never need to hear this again.

Howling Sycamore - Seven Pathways to Annihilation. Not as good as the debut and was initially disappointed, but it's clicked a lot more over the years.

Listened to one track of that new Leatherhead album and immediately put in on the wishlist.   Sounds right up my street.

Eluveitie - Evocation II - Pantheon
Mayhem - Liturgy of Death
Soen - Reliance
Infernal Flame - The Grave

100 Demons - s/t
xCanaanx - Gehenna Made Flesh

Their best.

Ahh I wouldn't go that for. Grabbed a second hand copy there last year and was delighted to have it again in physical form but objectively side A is fantastic, side B has some serious filler. "Low Life" for example.

We used to cover Low Life  :'(

Fourth best for me, but that's after Leprosy, Human and Scream Bloody Gore. Hard to top those three.

For Ruin covered the title track, if memory serves.

I waver between Leprosy, Spiritual Healing and Human, so wouldn't raise an eyebrow at any of those three being lauded as their finest effort. Spiritual Healing is total class from start to finish, the six-solo tradeoff in Low Life, jaysus it's sublime.

Leprosy and SH are my least favourite. And that's mostly because Bill Andrews should never have been allowed near a drumkit (I put Leprosy at the bottom due to Rick Rozz's involvement).

Leprosy is the definitive death metal album. Agents are on the way to your location. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Death have never done it for me. Dunno why.

Didn't realise when I posted that yesterday it was the album's 36th anniversary, altering the future!

Lol. I say that as a total Death fanboy - Chuck is my favourite musician, ever. The production isn't great on SH or Leprosy either.

Now if Reifert was still behind the kit for those... he gave SBG the sort of feral energy that Leprosy and SH lack.

Speaking of, I'd call Severed Survival the ultimate DM album. "Amputation for your rations!". Indeed, Chris, indeed.
