Ninkharsag - The Dread of Solemn Gods

Decent enough Dissection worship, as if the Grim Reaper driving a Hearse though a snowy landscape on the cover doesn't give that away!

Any time I look at that cover I can only wonder how is it possible for the 4 lads to pull the hearse, the physics are all wrong!  :-[ :D

Fleurety- Min Tid Skall Komme.

I'm sure I've said it before but I'd love an explanation of the album cover. It's the two boys with rain on the camera lens by the looks of it, the dude in the back seems to have a sword in a scabbard, the one in front with his hands held in front of him but, whether it's a fluke of the distortion caused by the water on the lens or some other black magic, it looks as if he has a load of arrows coming through his hands. As I type it I realise that one of the song titles is to do with arrows. Hmm....

Englers piler har ingen brodd = Angel's arrows have no sting.

Arcturus- Constellation.
Solefald- The Linear Scaffold. I have listened to this online before but can honestly say that I remember not a single jot of it. I recall CT was a big fan and used to reference it fairly often in reviews, and listening to it now, primed as my ears are for this style lately, I'm impressed. Certain elements here and there might sound a bit quirky for the sake of it, but it has a surprisingly vicious edge to it. I can hear Arcturus and Borknagar in the mix. Is any of their later stuff worth a listen?

I quite like the Pills and Neonism albums also.
Harmonia universal was the last album I enjoyed from them.

Yeah , a second for Neonism, I found they got even more eclectic with each album, eventually ending up in world music territory, but yeah, The Linear Scaffold is probably the pick for me.
