All the recent Van Halen listening reminded me to stick on the Sumerlands album today. So damn good, must see about grabbing it on vinyl. Would be great if they did another disc together sooner rather than later (or never).

I did the same a week or two ago while on the session. Great album and I'm pretty sure I read that there is another one done.

Desert Sessions - Gypsy Marches

L'Acephale- Malefeasance. I got this for free with an order as what I actually had ordered is delayed. It's one I was curious about when it came out in 08 but I never picked it up. Total shite.  One for the spiders...

Beyond Dawn- Revelry. This is more like it  8)

Ved Buens Ende- Those Who Caress the Pale.

That's a stressful listening experience.

Curiosity piqued. Let me grab 20g of shrooms first though!

 Let me know if your ears and mind survive man.  :-X

So far today...
Serpent Column - Ornuthi Thalassa
                              - Invicta
Martröð - Transmutation of Wounds
Guðveiki - Vaengfor
Entheogen - Without Veil, Nor Self
Wolves In the Throne Room - Celestite
Fripp and Eno - Evening Star

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral.

Stonewall classic start to finish and as heavy as anything else going.

I nearly forgot how dearly I love it in the last few months

Top notch stuff, I was obsessed with it at the time, on my third copy of it at this stage. Played it to death to be honest, to the extent that I'd usually whack on The Fragile these days at my go-to NIN album. Annoying that the remaster cuts the outro of Hurt, too.

lol I'm on me third or fourth copy as well. I didn't know the remaster cuts out that outro. Bad idea that

Primal Dawn- Zealot. I haven't listened to this in years. It's a shame the band split after this as they had really begun to find their feet as a band. It would have been interesting to see how they'd have approached an album. I'd forgotten just how well written these songs were.

My favourite NIN album and an all time favourite album of mine anyway (in the top 5 at the very least).  Never gets old.

Today's listening so far is equally rough in different ways:
Chat Pile - "Remove Your Skin Please"
Converge - "You Fail Me"
Girl Band - "Holding Hands With Jamie"
Sumac - "May You Be Held"

This Sumac album is fuckin monstrous by the way.  One of my favourites so far this year, oppressively heavy as usual, labyrinthine songs, wailing and ragged, crispy crispy production but not to the point of polished - just clear and alive sounding.  Unreal stuff.

In the last day or two -

Amorphis - Karelian Isthmus
Lord Belial - Demos (Ancient Demons)
Bathory - Blood Fire Death

Podcasts - Thomas Eriksen, Talking Sopranos,  Agitators Anon, Into The Darkness...

Slayer - Show No Mercy

Dark Thone - Soulside Journey.
At the Gates - Purgatory unleashed.
Emperor -Live inferno.

Obscuring Veil - Fleshvoid to Naught
Skáphe - Untitled ep
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
