Had it on last week. Passes the test of time with ease. Their best album for me...
I had Legion on yesterday. Also still so good after all these years...

I had Amon – Sacrificial / Feasting The Beast on yesterday.
The songs are so well formed, & raw as f*ck!

They were a bucket list band for me to see live.
I saw them last month.
A beast of a performance 

Was at that legendary McGonagle's gig on thir first tour, so 1990 I guess.
It was pure mayhem outside and inside that evening. Fights and mugging outside beforehand and after. Saw one lad with waist length hair getting swung round by it and his feet actually left the ground. That was in the queue to get in...
The moshpit was insanely aggressive too, added to that the obscene heat in the packed venue. There was a few ambulances called in that night.
Gigs were always intense around McGonagle's, but that night was something else!

Anthrax: Cursum Perficio

Just on the first song now which isn't great, hopefully it'll pick up.

Edit: Halfway through it now. It hasn't improved.

Edit 2: The second half is marginally better.than the first, but it's just forgettable stuff really. It's not Stomp 442/Volume 8 bad, but just very subpar. Not worth the wait at all.

Sumerlands - Sumerlands 9/10
Off the shelf after recent reappraisals here, like most I found the follow up to fall shy of the high bar set here, the pairing of Swanson's vocals and Rizk's guitar work is bang on.

Lvcifyre - Svn Eater 9/10
Twelve freaking years now since Svn Eater first devastated my stereo and in terms of sheer demonic intensity there's few to equal it.

Spectral Wound - A Diabolical Thirst 8.5/10
From the fertile Canadian underground, Spectral Wound's razor sharp, ice storm Black Metal proves that you don't have to add anything new to the traditional brew to make an impactful album.

Sacrifice - Apocalypse Inside 8/10
The Canadians reinventing themselves (slightly) like so many other thrash  bands back in the mid nineties but this was still very much a thrash record, just a more reined in, sophisticated and modernised blend that more than holds its own in their discography. The artwork still breaks my brain though.

Evile - The Unknown 5.5/10
Evile have some cracking records in their discography if you don't mind the Metallica worship (which I don't) but this wasn't one of them,a paean to the Black album without the hooks to match  and with three plodders and a ballad making up the first four tracks, it flatlines early on.

Benedictum - Dominion 5/10
Big fan of the band's debut album but this third one that I nabbed off Amazon isn't doing much for me, maybe it'll grow but their female fronted street level Trad/Power Metal seems to have taken on too many contemporary (for 2011) influences here.
