Devin Townsend - "Terria"
Still, hands down, the best of all time.  Have said it hundreds of times here.  Actually as far as Tiny Tears on it at the minute and as a song it is flawless.  Type O vs. Ween vs. Hum with Godflesh circa "Hymns" Guitars.  Anyway look it is part of my blood I would say anything to get lads to listen to it.

Young Widows - "Settle Down City"
How did I miss this for years?  Have had it on about twenty times over the past three weeks.  Ridiculously good.  Rabid noise rock, surely they are a Chat Pile influence.  Great all round, particularly lethal when it leans into the more lurching, repetitive, ragged bits.

Gospel - "The Moon is a Dead World"
Think I posted this the other week but it is still on regularly and still unreal.  Really just keeps opening up repeat spins in.  Post Rock / Emo / Alt / Post Hardcore thing.  I listen to a fair bit of those genres but not a lot of bands on this exact thing, even though this is class.

Secret Chiefs 3 - "Hypostasis of the Archons"
Absolute bastard of a song.  Decrepit grind/death in the middle of a mostly otherwise cinematic album but it fits perfectly anyway.  Class stuff.

Ride the Lightning.

Maybe I did get that one thing wrong. I'd forgotten how the transitions from the title track into For Whom the Bell Tolls into Fade To Black are so perfectly, seamlessly woven in to make an almost 20 minute epic metal triptych. Okay, yeah, the transition from Fight Fire with Fire into Ride the Lightning is also perfect, but don't be pushin' yer luck now.

Their Ride The Lightning, an utterly perfect album. The guitar tone on A Sea To Suffer In is glorious.

I was way late to the Young Widows party as well, always preferred Jaye Jayle , but they're great. Actually going to see them in Belgium in a few weeks..and Dazzling Killmen the next night.

Gospel are one of the all time greats. Absolutely. Proggy (in the 70s sense) post hardcore. Mars Volta for people who have no money and a deathwish.
