Pensees Nocturne - Vacuum

Reading Geddy's book and finding my way through the discography as I go. We are up to Power Windows.

Funeral- Opus Satani Excelsi. This album is so good. No frills black metal that really grows with repeated listens. The production is perfect. It sounds like a good quality demo given a boost. Earthy, organic, raw and powerful.

Borknagar - Borknagar
Dark Tranquility - The Mind's I
Desaster - Tyrants of the Netherworld

Enslaved - Frost
Rotting Christ - Thy Mighty Contract
Fifth Angel - Time Will Tell
Fifth Angel - Fifth Angel
Triumpher - Spirit Invictus

Eoin Dillon- The Third Twin.

Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle-earth

Immortal - Pure Holocaust 9/10
Iconic second album from the blizzard beasts getting its first outing of the year.

James Murphy - Feeding The Machine 8/10
All the talk of Megadeth and past members recently reminded me that this legendary virtuoso once auditioned to replace Marty Friedman, something James himself says he has no recollection of due to memory loss caused by his brain tumour at the time.

Unearthly Trance - Electrocution 7.5/10
Probably should pick up a few more records from these boys, quite partial to their gritty brew of Electric Wizard fucking with Today Is The Day, on here anyway.

Penthos - Erevos 6/10
Black Metal from Greece on a weekend when Pure Holocaust was let loose, this tremolo plucking and blastbeats affair was never going to stand a chance really despite doing it's damndest to sound as Scandanavian as possible.

Inhuman Condition - Mind Trap 6/10
Third one from Terry Butler and Co. out last year on Listenable which of course largely sees the band emulating their Floridian past with a touch of thrash and some rather run of the mill Chris Barnes style vocals. Toe tapping stuff though, reminds me of Cancer.

Infest - Ambassadors of Aggression 6/10
Very aptly named seventh record from these Serbian lunatics who raze all in their path with a furious, though one dimensional, death-thrash onslaught. Check out their vid for 'Are You With Us?' for a heartwarming introduction to all their nearest and dearest.

Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Manowar: Sign Of The Hammer   CD

Picked up for 6e second hand today, already have the vinyl. Great album but odd production. "Thor the mighty, Thor the brave.."  :abbath:

Love it. Where did you get that second hand?

Speaking of things oh-so 90s (see Film thread), this album sweats everything alt-90s from every pore!

Septic Flesh - Codex Omega
Seven Sisters - Shadow of a Fallen Star PT 1
Nokturnal Mortum - The Taste of Victory
Iced Earth - Iced Earth
Iced Earth - Night of the Stormrider
Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings
Sadism - Necrology (1997-2002)

Tad: God's Balls, 8-Way Santa

I'd never really checked them out properly but the recent discussion here led me back to them. Great stuff, I have that documentary lined up for later.

Screaming Trees: Sweet Oblivion

Slayer - A Season In Hell. It's from the Divine Intervention tour. They blaze through the songs, brilliant.

Tempers Frey - Return To The Earth.

Nasum - Inhale/Exhale
