Looking for some decent thrash to listen to in these times
... any newer bands I should be checking out? Any offbeat, blackened, hybrid suggestions welcome.

Power Trip are pretty well known at this stage.

Vulture are worth a listen. You could argue they're more speed metal than thrash, but check them out anyway.

Vektor would be the obvious one, on the slim chance you haven't heard them

Revocation have been going a while, had a lot of time for their last album The Outer Ones when it came out

Ouroboros lean a bit more on the death metal side but throw in some lovely thrashy riffs with it

Pessimist from Germany are my favourite of the newer bands:

Antichrist - Forbidden World / Sinful Birth
Hellish Crossfire - Slaves of The Burning Pentagram / Bloodrust Scythe
Hellbringer - Awakened From The Abyss

Vhol (members of YOB, Hammers of Misfortune and Agalloch) were pretty good. Especially if you're looking for something along the lines of Voivod/Vektor.

Sorry bout late reply, have been off net for a small bit. Cheers for the recs, lads - will certainly be delving through those.

Aw man, totally blanked on Vektor... been slightly out of the loop when it comes to new heavy music, but fucking hell, just listened to Tetrastructural Minds.... gobsmacked.

Everything they've done is brilliant, they just got better and better with each release. I'd rank Terminal Redux right up with any classic thrash album
