Vomitory - In Death Throes 8/10
Latest from the brutalist Swedes, can't go wrong with any Vomitory really for a solid Death Metal pummeling though there's something unsettling about their debut that still marks it as their high point for me.

Whitesnake - Ready 'n' Willing 7.5/10
Picked up a first press of this in Fallguy Records in Enniskillen, great wee shop and great wee opener here, the original, bluesier Fool For Your Lovin' originally written for BB King, good call keeping that one for yourself Cov.

Alice Cooper - Raise Your Fist and Yell 7/10
And another pick up from Fallguy, the Coop's '87 shock rock platter which I couldn't resist on vinyl as I've always found the cover art iconic, many will say it's naff though!

Krallice - Scour Order 7/10
Have only heard bits and pieces over the years, first time I picked up a full album not sure I was expecting this to be so frantically noodly and Dillinger like, had plenty of spins of it though,...challenging but not without its rewards.

Ihsahn - Das Seelenbrechen 6/10
Amazing to think Ihsahn is up to eight solo records at this stage. this was the fifth one and for me a bit of a struggle at the time, still is. Mind you if I ever need something in my ears while wandering around a contemporary art gallery I'll know what to choose. ( That's totally going to happen)

Armored Saint - Emotion Factory Reset 4/10
Most disappointing album of the year for me, this is less 'march of the saint' and more ' the saint meandering of into middle aged obscurity.' An emotion factory reset is needed because this is music for Little League Dads, bereft of any rock n roll anger .

Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Seltar - Autoscopia

Armagh - Serpent Storm (dodgy band name, but they actually put out great music)
Helloween - Helloween
Scanner - Hypertrace
Infernal Majesty - None Shall Defy
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
