Metal Discussion / Re: Bacterium 'Sunt Lacrymae Rerum'
June 17, 2019, 08:53:09 AMQuote from: Black Shepherd Carnage on June 16, 2019, 06:33:49 PMThe doom scene is very saturated with these sort of bands so something like this in a press release at least sets it apart as different. impossible to find good new doom that isnt just stoner blues.Quote from: Eoin McLove on June 16, 2019, 04:25:24 PM
"As weak fancy doomers hide behind loud amps and posh pedals and drown in a meaningless stew of wizard bongery, Bacterium arrive like a ragged fist in the face, proudly launching their existential threat upon the creaky wavelength of the abyss to claim and demolish the throne of funeral doom death. As it was. As it is. As it ever will be. Doom."
Music is sublime. Artwork an absolutely perfect match (great the way the border is cell-wall-like). But what's the above? Trying to instigate a doom-rap-battle? Should present yourselves as if into a void, not with critical reference to a scene you deem (largely correctly) to be irrelevant.

Gigs and Festivals / Iron Mountain Metal Festival - Leitrim - 1st-3rd May 2020
May 30, 2019, 11:44:13 AM
From the facebook page:
QuoteThe road to Iron Mountain Metal Festival has begun!Edited removing two gigs details, being run in the lead up to it, with Svet Kant. best of luck with it but his track record for festivals is poor. Seems to be pushing that metal festivals are not common here, ignoring that there are another five already this year. Dont see how its different. would prefer just to see normal gigs in Galway again to be honest so at least it could bring those up.
This will be a festival purely in name. It's not a festival, it's a gathering! A small intimate area that will be limited to 150 weekend passes located in the Iron Mountains, Co. Leitrim.
There will be two stages and a completely non corporate B.Y.O.B event.
Along with my other project Burning Metal Irl this will be up and coming Irish bands and non profit.
...
A big festival is not possible in this country, but a small gathering of like minded people having a good time and championing up and coming bands is.
Next May this shall begin!
