Another one - when the Anvil documentary first came out years ago (2007/08?), we were discussing it in the pub and a lad chimes in with "I was actually  fan of Metal On Metal when it first came out, so I'm not just some trend hopper after the movie" - he would have been 8 or 9 years old in 1982. Again, seems unlikely a kid of that age would have been up on what I would consider a niche/underground release for he time.

Nobody listened to Anvil back then. Nobody listens to them now except maybe... Anvil here.

I think they found a nice balance with the way they put extra ads in during the Six Nations rugby. Only one per half, during a natural break in play (usually for injury) and they were on screen adverts, so you could still see what was going on (usually the man with a magic sponge or the attractive French or Italian fans).

I do love that the culture wars haven't yet caught up with the time-honoured tradition of the cameraman trying to pick out the hot chick in the crowd 

It's coming back somewhat but it was definitely curtailed after South African world cup, I think it was. Bleedin' killjoys.

In terms of punishment, it should be expulsion, but that wont happen because the PL wont have the bollocks in my opinion. The minimum should be enough of a points deduction to guarantee relegation; an ungodly fine; and as lengthy a transfer ban as can be handed down.

Last season let it down majorly which was a pity. Was brilliant up to that point.

It is top tier. Ride the Lightning, Fade to Black, Creeping Death, and Call of Ktulu are top, top tier 

I think I must have gotten a bit tired of it. For a long, long time it was the Smoke on the Water of metaller guitar players, "the riff"

I just remember the feeling hearing it live first time. "It's the last time you will...". Dramatic pause and epic kick back in. No band, and no other song has given me more joy at a gig.

Anathema - Distant Satellites. Haven't listened to this in a while. Couple of really good songs, "Anathema" in particular, but they were clearly influenced heavily by post-rock and Radiohead. Still better than The Optimist.

The Angelic Process - Weighing Souls with Sand Ehh...the opposite. Oppressively heavy.

One of the side effects of Type O season for me is usually River Runs Red as well. And when I'm getting very hard up near the end of the season I'll have a go of the Pist.on album as well for the faint whiff of Type O it gives off

I have a playlist with Type O, A Pale Horse Named Death and Pist.on. Pist.on have a few very catchy songs to be fair.
