I'll be returning to Ireland in August for a week. I'll see if I can find any of my old tapes when I visit my folks

CD.
Ah, so he mixed them up twice the plonkwr!!![]()
The first time he mixed them up with Sepultura for advance tracks off the new album back then.![]()

![]()
Imrama also didn't grab me. It has always been Storm and Spirit as the pinnacle for me.![]()
I still have a tape in my folks gaff somewhere when John Kenny interviewed Igor Cavalera before the release of Chaos AD. He said 'here's Sepultura with slave new world part 2 and proceeded to play among the lazarae. Clown

Long time since I've spun it.
ha, the daughter texted me yesterday going "I see Fear Factory are playing Dublin soon..", so if it's a Demanufacture set I might accompany her
Sure why not. It'll probably be better than the SFX gig in... 96?
It was in 95. With Skinfather as support.
I didn't realise it was the same year as Machine Head in there. I really liked Skinfather. Less so Pet Hates who opened!
Yep, enjoyed Skinfather too. Decent band. Fear Factory were sound at that show. Came out and talked to everyone after the show

July 05, 2026, 08:09:08 PMQuote from: ochoill on July 03, 2026, 07:06:05 AMBeen all over the place lately and haven't had much on but a few from the last few weeks that stood out:
Gospel - "The Moon is a Dead World"
Great album I come back to every few months. Sort of post hardcore, sort of prog, spacey but to the point, lethal auld yoke.
Slift - "Fantasia"
Still at it. Still great. Another for the AOTY lists this year anymore definite it is faultless for me.
Fantomas - "Suspended Animation"
An all time favourite, back in rotation. Wild, chaotic, but just savage. I remember seeing the tour for this in the Village years ago and it is still one of my favourite gigs I ever saw.
Genghis Tron - "Signal Fire"
Great on the first couple of spins, plenty in here to dig into, will see if it holds up as well as the last album but this seems to have a bit more vigour about it anyway so far.
I had the new Warning album on once and I love it but have yet to go back to it for various reasons.
Have to agree about that Fantomas show in the village. 2005? It's in my top 5 shows of all time. Added bonus for getting to see Terry Bozzio on drums with them.
I do love Suspended Animations but Directors Cut is an all timer album for me

Danish film where Mads Mikkelsen and friends try to test the theory that maintaining a blood alchohol level of 0.05% every day improves your life. Decent oul craic. They're all teachers and there's some genuinely funny parts of them all trying to hold it together in school. More of a drama than a comedy overall though.
Great film. If you haven't already, check out Riders For Justice. Madds again and came out the same year as another round (I think). The tone is weird, it shouldn't work but absolutely does
If you haven't seen one called Flickering Lights I would recommend that too. A lot of the same actors in it.
Cheers dude, I'll check that out. Haven't heard of it

Gigs and Festivals / Re: Clutch - May 2026 - Dublin/Belfast/Limerick
May 27, 2026, 07:20:31 AMQuote from: Trev on May 27, 2026, 12:59:05 AMNever really listened to these lads, but this missus likes them and I've enjoyed the stuff she sticks on. Good night, although it didn't look like the guitarist or bassist moved more than a foot
And qhen did the Academy start only doing Rockshore and Carlsberg? Fucking Sophies choice of shit beer
Someone on Metal Ireland once said the guitarist looks like some lad you'd see strolling out of a bookies. Thought that was a an apt (and very funny) description of him. And yeah, Tim and Dan never move q muscle onstage. Definitely my favourite rock band. Haven't seen them in years though. They're coming to Spain this time though

Definitely agree with Surgical Steel. Great album. The true successor to Heartwork.
I'd put Belus by Burzum up there. Really enjoyed it
Gorguts was a good call too

First I heard of them was Insect and I went off listening to Negatron and Phobos thinking that was the sound. I got an awful shock when I heard the vocals on the other stuff going back the years. I like it now but it took a good while
I still can't get into their other albums based on the vocals. Musically it sounds good but the vocals kill it for me every time
